Predictions Made About: Moiraine

Rating: 1.67

Moiraine is Ilyena reborn.

By Joe M on 2013-01-04

Rating: 4.8

One of Moiraine questions in Finnland was how Rand could seal the bore. When she sees Rand again he will be receptive to her help.

By Waxer on 2012-07-09

Rating: 3.88

Moiraine and Nynaeve will be the two women with Rand using Callandor at the last battle.

By Waxer on 2011-07-02

Rating: 1.17

Moiraine marries Thom as thanks for saving her. Thom will die during the last battle. Moiraine discovers, realizes or is told that she is Ilyena. Moiraine is the "fourth woman in Rand's life and will take Allana's bond to Rand.

By Johnny on 2011-05-16

Rating: 2.17

I believe one of Moiraine's two other wishes, her first being the bracelet angreal, is that she be freed of the Three Oaths. This will aid in her ability to fight the Last Battle as well as help her in being able to manipulate Rand, Mat, Perrin, and the others by allowing her to lie

She is dead.

By Amys on 2010-10-27

Rating: 1.8

Moiraine's second trip through the Ter'angreal came at a much greater cost than her first. As part of the bargain, she agrees to give up her connection to the OP in exchange for her life. She will return to Rand as adviser or at the very least ally. With her channeling ability removed, and Rand matured through experience and time, perhaps Rand and Moiraine can come to some sort of non-threatening agreement.

By Rhyagelle on 2010-10-19

Rating: 4.4

I predict that when Moiraine is rescued we will find out that she is stronger than before. I am of the belief that Lanfear is Cyndane and that her diminished strength is also because of this wish. I don't think their strengths were swapped because Cyndane is still too strong, but in my view Moiraine wished to be stronger and they took it from Lanfear, who I predict wished to be free and did not specify alive or with power intact.

By PerrinMcBeardy on 2010-10-13

Rating: 4.2

Moiraine will do what Egwene could not bring herself to do in her Accepted test, and slip in for a twisted Morgan Le Fay parallel, along with fulfilling foreshadowing in TEOTW, 'Choices'.

By terez on 2010-07-27

Rating: 9.8

Moiraine, in her time with the Finns, will have gotten a lot of information concerning the last battle, and she may have gotten some other things too...

By Thom as cain on 2010-06-26

Moiraine traded her freedom for some three things with the 'finn that is why she is trapped. One of three is clearly breaking her bond with Lan.

By Eviltwin on 2010-05-31

Rand is the fire that blinds, Mat is the music to daze and Perrin is the iron that binds. These three will rescue Moiraine.

By purpleque on 2010-05-17

Moiraine will have influential knowledge, gained strength, got some of Lanfear's memories (now knows AoL weaves) and Mat will rescue her.

By Paaran Disen on 2009-11-03

Rating: 9.2

Moiraine will have gained knowledge critical to defeating the Dark One during her stay in Finnland.

By kivo on 2009-11-01

When Moiraine is rescued from Finnland her ability to channel will have increased by the amount that Lanfear's reduced in becoming Cyndane.

By Stevros on 2009-11-01

Rating: 3

That Moiraine will have been stilled and healed of it by Damer Flinn as an Asha'man and organize a war party to purge the BlackTOwer of Darkfriends... Including Taim.

By MatOdin on 2009-10-28

Rating: 8.6

Moiraine will be rescued by a the Mat/Thom/Noal group, and will utter, within the first chapter of her rescue, "The wheel weaves as the wheel wills." Similarly, Mat will exclaim "Blood and bloody ashes" at some point in the rescue.

By sporkify on 2008-03-16

Rating: 4.29

Moiraine will return by way of Mat/Thom's rescue and will still have her full power due to an agreement with the Finns. Will also neither support the Salidar Tower nor Elaida, instead being disgusted the Tower split at all.

By Ayla on 2008-01-31

Moiraine will turn out to be Mabriam en Shereed reborn.

By Catalyst on 2007-10-23

Rating: 7.13

I predict Moiraine will be a Key component of helping Rand win the LB.

By BKVMC on 2007-09-08

Rating: 4.67

I think Moraine snapped the bond with Lan when she went into the A/Eelfinn land because she wanted people to think her dead. She never said she was dead because, of course, she can't lie as Aes Sedai. She kills Lanfear (who already has been reborn as Cyndane)and 1.negotiates with the A/Eelfinn, 2. Mat rescues her because he has alot to do with the A/Eelfinn or 3. Lanfear(Cyndane) tells Rand and Rand somehow rescues her.

Or: Lanfear and Moraine have a huge fight in which Lanfear dies and Moraine is stilled. Escape theories are the same as above. Moraine is healed by an Asha'man because saidin can heal her all the way while saidar won't(ex.Logain and Siuan and Leane)and Nynaeve and Moiraine get into a big fight over Myrelle passing the bond to whom.

By KaetySedai on 2006-10-29

Cyndane isn't really Lanfear but Moiraine and by going to the Tower of Ghenjei, Mat will free her from Ishamael/Moridin's grip. Sidenote, Cyndane could have been turned to the darkside by the Black Ajah.

By lilasakuragal on 2006-09-22

After Moraine's rescue she will, of coarse go to Rand and will play a part in "teaching him to laugh". Now she can come off that list in his head and maybe it will go away cos her death kind of started the whole mournig for women thing

She was stilled when she went through the doorway. Nyn will heal her and Moiraine will pass Lan's bond in thanks.

My prediction is that the early book will be Moiraine being rescued by mat followed immediatly by the last battle where moiraine will intervene at the end allowing Rand to accomplish whatever he needs to do.

By Btown87 on 2006-06-24

Rating: 6.57

Moraine is rescued by Thom, Mat and Noal. Noal will end up sacrificing himself to atone for past sins, knowing that by freeing moraine, she will be able to achieve more good to make up for the bad he has commited, albeit inadvertantly.

By Rand AlTherin on 2006-06-20

Rating: 5.86

I believe that Thom will rescue Moiraine, or that she is in fact loose and faked her death. I think she will take care of Mr. Betrayer of Hope, again, in the last battle so that Rand can battle the big, bad boss.

She will help unite the aes sedai behind Rand, since she has almost become as great a legend as Cadsuane. She will do this by helping Rand trust the aes sedai, and helping the aes sedai trust Rand. Otherwise, he will fail.

Will come back and rule Cairhein. Will make a new connection between Aiel and Cairhein as the Aiel have some respect for her, maybe they will give her a new tree for Cairhein. Also creating good political relations with Elaine in Andor.

By Jane-Sedai on 2005-10-10

Rating: 2.43

Moiraine and Lanfear have had to make some sort of bargain with the *finn for release. Some exchange of characteristics is involved. Lanfear has chosen to retain youth and beauty, but lost strength and height, becoming Cyndane. Moraine will have lost youth or at least the ageless look, but gained Lanfear's strength. The loss of youth is OK because she's going to end up with Thom who's much older anyway. Olver (who is Gaidal Cain) makes the connection between Snakes and Foxes and iron/music/fire at the crucial time. Don't know when that will be, or if he fights or supplies the knowledge to another (Mat, Thom?), or if it's connected with Moraine's return.

By hfel on 2005-09-27

By the unspoken rules of epic storytelling, Moiraine was expendable. As a guide character, her purpose was to guide the young hero and set him on his course. Oftentimes this character sacrifices him/herself to preserve the life of their pupil, as did happen in WOT.
But, the rules also have it that she must return eventually. Whether in body or in spirit, even if she is mentioned for only a sentence, she must smile approvingly on Rand after he saves the day.

By CinderSerenade on 2005-08-10

Elayne will be too busy to take the Sun Throne. Rand only wants her to take it because he trusts her. Moiraine will be back in KoD and she will claim the Sun Throne, and keep it. And she will marry Thom. She will either be stilled or much stronger than before.

Moiraine will NEVER become amyrlin, because she is charged with treason for aiding the dragon reborn without consent of the tower. When she is saved from the finn, all Aes Sedai, except those sworn to Rand, that find out she's alive will try and bring her to justice at either the Tower, or the rebels.

I don't know where Moraine is at currently (perhaps finnland) but we were TOLD that she would be seen again. She is Aes Sedai, therefore she is unable to lie so, before she went into the wast she told Thom that she would see him again. Thom went with Nynaeve and Elayne. Thom has not seen her again since that time in the Stone of Tear. When and how? I don't know but certainly she will.

I believe that it will be up to Perrin and Egwene to save Moiraine. And also she will probably come back stilled. Cause the Finn through the Rhuidean doorway require a price and hers was her ability to channel in exchange for Lanfear's ability to channel weakened and Lanfear killed. That's why Lan felt Moiraine die.

By Foxwolf on 2003-09-05

I believe Moiraine is alive and well. Lanfear told stated in Winter Heart thatshe was held captive by the Elfinn against her will and only the DO pulling her out of her body (death) did she get reborn. Moiraine is still alive but in Finnland and some how she'll leave (maybe by the other Alfinn door in Tear) and by there to assist 'Rand in his time of need' (Min's prediction).

By Vaetrus on 2003-09-01

I believe Moiraine Damodred is really dead, regardless of how much I personally want to believe otherwise. IF everybody else's theory that Lanfear has been reborn is correct, that logically implies that Lanfear must have died when they went through the twisted doorframe. Anything capable of killing a Forsaken at the height of her powers is more than capable of taking out a mere Aes Sedai.

Well for me i believe she will be brought back. Thom will definatly have to save her since it is profisiesced in one of the True dreams. I believe Mat's party and Perrin's Party will meet up in the tower of ghendii> Mat is seeking revenge for having been almost killed by the finns and perrin in hopes of saving his beloved fail. As for birgette i think she will still be able to enter the pattern as she used to be. But the only way lanfear could have killed asmodian was that she would have haf to have been reancarnated into cyndane that quickly. I believe either semirhage or demandred killed asmodean in fear of him revealing to much to rand. that is my prediction and sry for the punctuation im only 13.

I believe Moiraine was killed by Lanfear in Finnland, and is Cyndane. Not in a Lanfear/Moiraine way, I just think that Cyndane is Moiraine reincarnated. Perhaps she still has her wits about her, and is biding her time, following the Shadow until the moment arises that she can retalliate.

She did not kill Lanfear, or manage to still her. Her power is too small in comparison. I think that Lanfear was the one who killed Asmodean, having already known how to Travel, unlike any others under the Light.

She will, however, retalliate and attack Lanfear on TG just before the Horn is blown, catching her by surprise and stilling her. Lanfear has been in hiding, known only as the eyes that watch in T'A'R. This means that Lanfear will not be around to disrupt Rand. In the attempt, however, Moiraine herself will be stilled, then murdered by Lanfear who is armed.

She will be risen by the Horn of Valere, unbound by the Three Oaths, to fight by Rand's side on TG.

I believe that Moraine must be alive, and that Thom must save her for fairly simple reasons. Moraine and Nynaeve (maybe Egwene... can't remember, sorry but it has been a while) were in the Aiel waste and they got into an arguement. Moraine responded something to the effect of, I know who I will marry better than you. Well, Thom has that note that RJ won't let us read from Moraine and... well. It obviously has something to do with Moraine's return or RJ, as a writer, would have no reason to hide it... I think they are destined for each other... what a weird pair. Thom and Moraine.
