Predictions Made About: Rand

Rating: 2.33

Rand will Kill the DO as he plans. Because the world must find a balance, and there is no longer darkness, there will also no longer be light. The use of the One Power will no longer be attainable and all will be put on an even footing.

By The Bloody Nine on 2012-11-07

Rating: 5.17

Rand will die, but just like the dead forsaken, he will survive in a new body. That body will be Ishamael's "new" body: Moridin.

By lyonardo on 2012-07-02

Rating: 2.5

Rand will die at the black tower, his blood on the rocks of shayol ghul refers to the rock at the black tower

By Strongbow on 2012-06-29

Rating: 3.17

Will defeat the Dark Lord by sealing Fain in the bore so the two fight each other for eternity unable to spread their evil - just like Rand's scar on his side.

By Hobbitspawn on 2012-03-21

Rating: 4.5

Rand will learn laughter and tears from Mat and Perrin, his friends who didn't let destiny get in the way of building lives. They will teach him to appreciate the journey.

By WinespringBrother on 2011-06-28

Rating: 7.13

Lews Therin told Rand that the DO was able to taint Saidin because he was forced to touch it to the DO when sealing the bore. It seems like using a combo of Saidin/Saidar would be the logical solution to the problem, but that would let the DO taint both. I predict that Rand will use the DO against himself, by using the True Power to seal the bore. No new taint, no new breaking. Rand will effectively taint himself by using the True Power, but will have the goodness/strength to seal it away inside himself, like the tainted wounds in his side, and keep it from having and effect on the wider world.

By Whiskey619 on 2011-04-28

Rating: 5.83

Rand will destroy the seals on DO's prison and use a combination of two sides of one power and true power (three becoming one) to form balefire and destroy the hole in DO's prison. in that way the wheel will begin again, no one will remember the hole or DO because memory is burned out of the pattern and there will be no hole to begin with. Rand will disappear because if there is no hole in DO's prison there is no need for him in the pattern. Only people who knows him and come in contact with him will remember him and memory will fade quickly from everyone else memory.

By bbudd on 2011-04-27

Rating: 2

Perhaps it is Rands fate to die in an attempt to seal the dark ones prison for instance if he were to go personally into the dark ones prison, Mordeth would follow him in there, they could seal the bore around the 3 of them. Rand would die and then Rand could be brought back by the creator to help finish the battle and the remaining forsaken.

By unseenshade on 2011-04-07

Rating: 2.33

Rand will link with Nynaeve and Narishma at the last battle to wield Callandor. Nynaeve will use Saidar, Narishma Saidin, and Rand the True Power, thus "The three become one."

By Revelation on 2011-03-22

Rating: 3

Rand will realize that he has to use the True Power to seal the dark one, and the resulting backlash will kill him and Moridin during their epic battle. (possibly some other forsaken as well)

By Eharoni Prince on 2011-03-10

Rating: 3.67

Callandor has to be used in a circle with 3 channelers. One appears to be Rand. The other two will be Nynaeve, and Moiraine, if Rand retains control of Callandor. It will not be Elayne, Aviendha, or Egwene as they have other duties that will take precedent.

By Lissie on 2011-01-30

Rating: 5.33

On the rocks of Shayol Ghul, Rand will die. But his soul will survive, transmigrated into Logain's body. Callandor will be the instrument of this Transmigration, because it is also a unique ter'angreal designed either to store a soul, or leave Rand open to transmigration. Likely, Logain will have already fallen victim to a Drakghar attack, leaving his body soulless.

By markerikson on 2010-11-10

Rand will use Callandor in a circle with Egwene and Tuon, the two channelers who are almost equals with him in leadership.

By WinespringBrother on 2010-11-08

Rating: 6

Rand's going to use his link through Mordin to access the "True Power" which he says to be equal or greater than the Choedan Kal and seal the dark one with his own source.

By elyas on 2010-11-02

Rating: 3.2

Prior to the LB Rand will touch Moridin through their link. Causing his soul to transfer envelope Moridin's. However this in turn leaves Rand's body a hollow shell.

By siric on 2010-09-23

Rating: 5

Rand will fight at Shayol Ghul, opening the wound in his side, possibly burning himself out in the process. After defeating the Shadowspawn and the Forsaken on the slopes of Shayol Ghul(and dying), the Creator will ressureect Rand and tell him task is not yet done. Rand will enter the Pit of Doom and Sheathe the Sword in the Pit of doom to re-seal the Dark one's prison.

By jehanderiel on 2010-09-02

Rating: 4.4

Rand will kneel before Tuon.

By ZT on 2010-08-12

Rating: 5

Rand will be killed in ToM. He will then be transmigrated by the dark one, held and turned by 13 myrddraal and 13 Aes Sedai. He will then struggle throughout Memory of Light to regain his own mind, and he will do so with a flourish at the end. This will put him in a position to betray the forces of the dark who think him turned for good, and leave him in the end with a new body that is not missing a hand and riddled with unhealable wounds.

By PerrinMcBeardy on 2010-07-27

Gawyn will kill Rand on Sunday at noon.

By terez on 2010-07-27

Rating: 3

Rand will seal the DO in his prison permanently by patching the Bore with the True Power, the counter-stroke will kill him and the DO will capture his soul, thus the pattern will continue with the DO never again able to escape and the Dragon thread will be ended.

By Clyve on 2010-06-27

Rating: 2.8

Rand will not physically fight the DO, because the DO is a spirit, but rather will break the seals on the DO's prison, to prevent the age lace from unraveling. Then Rand will hold the DO at bay with help from LTT and the TP, while ogier, aiel, and tinkers sing the pattern back together.

By Thom as cain on 2010-06-26

Rating: 5.2

After Lews Therin tells Rand that the previous patch on the Bore was imperfect in its Saidin-born construction, Rand will realize that he must use the True Source to patch the Bore. Therefore the DO will only be able to taint himself, and the power to remove the patch can only come from the True Source, which would be cut off to all, presumably once all the Forsaken are killed.

By Finariel on 2010-06-10

Rating: 7.6

Rand will seal the bore with the True Power.

By elyas on 2010-05-26

Rating: 5

Even though Rand has overcome the darkness within, the effects of his ta'vereness will continue to be unbalanced. This time, however, only "good" random events will surround him. He was conflicted as to who he was even before his use of the true power, but now that the true Dragon has been realized, he will be a force of pure good and only beneficial happenings will follow in his wake.

By Jain Charin on 2010-05-09

When Rand battles the darklord the part of him that is Lews Therin will die. I think after this last battle there will be more Saidin or Saidar, instead an age will start this is "modern times" This is why it is especially important that Rand has started his schools, there will be no age of legends rather a modern age

After his episode on Dragonmount Rand will come to realize that he was a bit of a premadonna and in order to unite the land he will humble himself in front of the Seanchan and the Crystal throne so that they can get past their differences and fight the DO.

By messengeroflight on 2010-01-29

Rating: 2

Rand's wounds are causing the poor land conditions and the inability for crops to grow. Mat's spear will play a role in Rand's healing. I don't know what role it will play, though. During the healing, Rand might have to kneel. This would constitute as kneeling before the Crystal Throne (as predicted in Seanchan prophecy), as Mat and Tuon are married, and both Seanchan. From there, the land will be rejuvenated, and there might be peace between the Rand and the Seanchan as well. http://www.steelypips.org/wotfaq/3_sources/3.06_fisher_king.html

By Wilo on 2010-01-06

Rating: 3

Rand will not channel again in the series until he faces the DO. He will be physically blind when he comes down off dragonmount, and unable to properly channel. Narishma and possibly Cadsuane will find him on Dragonmount (after his little episode) and he will insist they go to Tar Valon. There he will address the Aes Sedai and eventually shame them into admitting just how far they have fallen from being true Aes Sedai. He will "cast down the exhalted tower" (the White Tower)and raise up again what was lost... the Hall of Servants, comprising men and women who are bound together with a purpose to serve and protect all man kind against the Shadow.

By The Foz on 2009-12-15

Rating: 2

Rand will remember the song which has been forgotten since the AOL. He will travel to Ebou Dar and teach it to them, getting caught by Seanchan in the process. He will be made to bow to the Crystal Throne, but similar to Egwenes struggle in the White Tower, he will suffer the unsufferable, convert Tuon to his cause and lead a contingent of Ogier and Tinkers to the last battle, where they will sing the song of life to throw back the blight, and reassert the laws of nature. Then the armies of the light will have a fighting chance and march on Shayol Ghul

By The Foz on 2009-12-15

Rating: 1

Rand will be the dark one. The dark one's job is to hold the True Source. Without the dark one, the True Source would destroy the world. When Rand fights and kills the dark one, he will sacrifice himself by holding back the True Source and making his own prison. In that prison he will remain until ages later when a dragon frees hime, fights him, and takes his place. The first dragon was The Creator. After using the True Source to create the universe, he imprisoned himself with the True Source.

By bunchkles on 2009-12-15

Since Rand is an Incarnation of the Dragon he will "die" but only as the Dragon after the last Battle is over since the Pattern will no longer need a Dragon and he can go back to being a farm boy so the Dragon can die, or just like the false Dragons the pattern will get rid of the real one when it no longer has a need for one

Moridin and Rand are linked, Dragonheart style. To kill Moridin, you must kill Rand and vice versa. However, that link will be circumvented providing Rand gives complete control to a (mostly) sane LTT.

Rand will venture to Shayol Ghul during the Last Battle. He will confront the Dark One there. He then realizes that it is impossible to destroy something intangible. He will then let the Dark One infect his soul. But, in fashion with LTT, once the Dark One takes his soul, he will destroy himself, thusly injuring, but not destroying the DO. This will set off the next chain of events, including resealing the now weakened Dark One by a combination of Elayne's angreal and Egwene's cuendillar talents.

Concerning the battle with the dark one.
I believe that Rand will destroy the dark one for good at the last battle and the way he will do that, is as follows:
At a certain time Rand will break all the seals and the bore will be completely open. At this point Rand will die, either by his own arrangement (probably with the help of that Seanchan wilder) or by chance. Rands soul will than somehow be forced outside the pattern (maybe through the bore) where he will face the dark one and defeat him by whatever rules that exist there (probably a battle of the mind/will.) I think that by doing so Rand will break the Wheel of Time and create a linear timeline. I also believe that Rand's soul will return to his body afterwards but how I do not know. (Maybe by the hands of the creator.)
This I foretell.

So (to me at least) it seemes only reasonable that somehow rand will force the female half of the source into the male half or vice versa making one (ok i know lame name) super source. This will be the source of power that is reffered to in The cross roads of twighlight as the standing flows, flows melded from both male and female half. Except that Rand and i guess all chanellers will be able to wield instantly melded flows.

As the story unfolded, I simply noticed a few parallels between it and an ancient doctrine called Gnosticism, which may give a clue as to how the story will keep unfolding. Gnosticism was about the myth of the Dying God, (whom in the most popular version is called Jesus) who was born of a virgin, was accompanied by 3 Mary's, died to save the world and was resurrected. This myth was echoed throughout the ancient world (the real world) and some modern books and movies have attempted to echo it also; e.g. the matrix, where there is a saviour called Neo, who in the first movie dies only to be resurrected, and just happens to have a lover named 'Trinity' paralleling the 3 Mary's, or the pagan 'triple goddess'. Similarly, Robert Jordan seems to be thinking along Gnostic lines; Rand is a saviour born of a maiden, has 3 lovers, and the Prophecy of the Dragon says his blood will be on the rocks of Shayol Ghul- he is going to die to save the world, as per the ancient myth of the Dying God, and then, possibly, he will be somehow resurrected.

He goes in disguise as a beggar, with Min as devoted daughter or sister or something. He's under a lot of stress, he's already a nutcase as none of us will deny. Rand develops hysterical blindness as a result, lasting about a week.
Finally it gets away somehow, they relax their guard, get captured by the Seanchan again. This time he gets fitted to a damane, starts dying, but Perrin somehow shows up and cuts his hand off. A nasty person mails it to Elayne, she starts getting hysterics, and so on.

I beleive that in the LB, Rand will not die. However the dragon will(fulfilling the prophecies) I think that rand will create from the, one power, a dragon(as on his banner) that will be used to seal the prison. Its blood( the one power) will be used to seal the prison again. As Rand is the dragon, this also fulfills the alfinn 'in order to live, you must die', as the dragon dies.

I am really surprised that everybody thinks that the "blood of the dragon on Shayol Ghul" will actually be Rand's blood. I am almost completely sure it will be his children. We already know that Elayne and Aviendha (and probably Min) are going to have kids.

Rand is a schizophrenic. The voice of LTT is a figment of Rand's mind. Schizophrenia is a form of madness and Rand has created this second 'person' within his mind to try to ward off the effects of the taints effect on him. The reason LTT almost took ov

I think rand will die at the end but whoever kills him will be killed with balefire bringing him back to life fulling what the 'snakey folk' said to him "to live, u must die". Well thats my two cents.

I think that Rand will survive after the Last Battle. He'll have to fake his death so people don't come after him when he's dead, hence the answer he got from the snakes "If you would live, you must die".

The Seanchan or somebody will put the adam bracelet on Rand and Elayne in a cruel trick to kill them. (It was mentioned in TGH, I think that when a man and woman who can channel are placed in the adam, they both die) and to save himself, Rand or somebody

I think that the wound in Rand's side has something to do with the resealing of the DO's prison. Remember when the ashaman Flinn was healing him? he said that the wounds were full of evil, but different kinds of evil. So Fain will be there at the last

In the LB, Rand will use all the angreal and sa'angreal he can get a hold of and draw so much Power that he USES UP the taint. The same act will blast him the same way it hit Lews Therin, and the result will totally seal the Bore.

One last speculation is that there will probably be one, or two at most, of the Forsaken that will remain and I think that he'll turn them to the ways of good and they'll teach all the once ways.

Rand in the battle with the Dark one at Shaul Ghul will release a lot of bale fire using his sword and the male statue incenerating the Dark One. Thus removing the Dark One from the Pattern.

I think that Rand will see Tam once again, and Tam will smack the arrogance out of Rand and set him back on a sane path. (Another thing that talking to Tam will do for Rand is have him quit the whining that he has been doing for the past couple of books).

Rand will make a slow recovery out of madness, with Min turning him on his head--when she does this, the effects of the taint reverse. Then, Aviendha will show up, and her and Elayne will combine to "do her in". Rand, struck by fury, will go to Shayol Ghu
