I think that the Dark One's plan will reveal itself as much more subtle and sinister than we have seen so far. Rather than a showdown of large forces or the One Power, Shaitan's strategy will be more akin to how he entrapped Rand into using the "true source" by sacrificing Semirhage. Rand's destruction of the Chodan Kal implies that his plan of attack will also be more subtle.

I predict that the "Creator" is really the bad guy. He imprisoned the "DO" (really the good guy) and built the Wheel to create the Pattern. The Pattern acts as a prison for Mankind by taking away their free will. Rand will figure all this out and attempt to free the "DO". Initially, everyone will think that he has either gone completely mad or that he has become a Darkfriend, with only Min standing by his side (and perhaps a few others).

I predict that with the ending of Tarmon Gaidon the Dark One will be permanently sealed into his prison again like he was before the Aes Sedai bored into it. This will ready the scene for another cycle of the Age of Legends and the Dragon Reborn etc. etc.

I think the dark one will be imprisoned again, shut away from the world and eventually forgotten about (as in the age of legends) making the whole "turning of the wheel" thing true; just as ishy said, he and lews therin have fought a battle hundreds of times before and will hundreds of times again if the light prevails.

My Theory is that the Dark One is a Female. Rand is the avatar of the creator and is male, he has sworn never to harm any more females, when the Last Battle is at the culminating point he will find that the avatar of the Dark One is Female and will not be able to destroy her. A female Dark One has tainted only the male half of the one power because she did not want to foul the half of the one power that she derives her power from.

I predict that Rand will balefire the Dark One thus pulling the pattern apart as then the AOL wouldn't have ended and the Creator wouldn't have shut the Dark One away in the first place as he couldn't have existed. Then all the characters will be in a totally different world with recollection of anything that happened in the books.
