Studies: Revelations and the Seven Seals

"I was reading the The Good Book, as is a good thing to do. No nothing by Robert Jordan! The Bible. Everybody looks to Norse mythology for clues about Jordans next novel. I advise you read Relavations 4-9. By no means is Jordan following this exacly, or at all if im mistaken.

There are four beasts in front of the throne in Heaven: 1) a lion 2) an ox 3) a creature with the face of a man 4) an eagle. Now lets look at the seven seals. Seven seals are the focus points of the Dark Ones prison. Seven seals seal a scroll that no one is worthy to open. Until a Lamb comes along, Lamb looks as if its been killed, it takes the scroll and everone falls down and sings a song (Rev. 5:9-13 you need to read the song, to long to put here) saying to the extent that the lamb was worthy to open the seal because he was killed, and with his blood he purchased men for God and the Lamb will recieve power, wealth, wisdom and strength. The Lamb who died could have been LTT. Rand is a Sheepherder. The Lamb begins to open the seals.

First Seal

With the first seal comes a cry from the Lion "Come and see" and there appeared a White horse. The rider held a bow and was given a Crown. He then went out like a conquer bent on conquest. Jordan might have connected each beast to something in the story. The Lion might be Andor, where Rand family was from.

Second seal

The ox cries out 'Come and see' and a red horse's rider is given a large sword and the power to take the peace from the land. There might be a streach in connecting the ox to Gareth Bryne's sigil of the bull but it can be done. He is leadind an army to the White Tower, taking peace from the land. Note: I connect the first two horses to aspects of Andor, Andors colors? Red and White.

Third seal

Man faced creature yells and a Black horse with a rider holding a pair of scales in his hand. A creature said " A measure of wheat for a days wages, and three measures of barleyfor a days wages and do not damage the oil and the wine." Mat places his eye on a pair of scales in several viewings by Min and Egwene. Tear sent grain to Cairhien and Rand tells Tairen Lords not to harm Mayene. A connection to Mayene is the oil the produce. Steven says that before Rand goes into Illian the Tairien are looking forward to plowing the Illian vineyards with salt, so when it said damage not the wine, it lead Steven to think that Illian will suffer less damage throughout this whole ordeal.

Fourth seal

Opened and the Eagle cries out and a pale horse whose rider was death, and was followed by hell. They were given the power over a quarter of the worlds inhabitants to kill with sword, hunger, death and the beasts of the earth. Steven thinks that The Eagle is a repesentation of Perrin, he can control the Beast, and the Eagle is a repensentation Manantheren, which he carries with his own Wolfhead. Steven dismisses the eagle as being Mat because Mat does not carry the Eagle banner and also because he has begun to favor the Fox. But I(Paul) think Jordan might have taken the Eagle and changed to a hawk, symbolising Hawkwing's son Luthiar who conquered Seanchan. The Seanchan still are a very grave threat, with lands far greater than where Hawkwing conquered, where most of the story is taking place.

I'm going to stop now and wait for feed back on this idea before I post our ideas on the last three seals. So far this goes to Rev 6:8 and I advise you read to all the way to Rev 9. Before I sign off I'd like to reiterate the point that jordan might have looked at Revelavations for inspiration, not an outline, so the Biblical text might not match Jordan's word for word."
