Much More Sane Ishamael

Before Winter's Heart - Archive Only: Who is Moridin?

Moridin is Ishamael. He doesn't remeber much because he went mad -thinking *he* was the Dark One himself-, but it seems to me only someone with Ishy's ego could have the fortitude to call himself "Death." Remember, "With the Lord of the Grave, death is not always final." Ish was too much of a heavy hitter not to come back and torture Rand some more. Aran'gar, BTW, is Bathamel! Aran'gar displays the short temper Balthamel supposedly had, and Aran'gar seems to enjoy ingratiating him/herself with women (Egwene). Idle speculation, but I think "the clues are there...

Were Ishamael's favorite colors the same that Moridin tends toward? I'm looking for some more clues that might help this theory along, I find it very likely, I just wish Rand would finish them all off with balefire.

In response to A Much More Sane Ishamael. In the Dragon Reborn, the part where the Forsaken die, a light shoots from the sword into Ishamael. That's obviously balefire so it would discredit your theory. I don't know who it is but it ain't Ishamael.
