aughter of the Seanchan Empress

by Ishihara: 1998-06-05 | Not yet rated

Before Winter's Heart - Archive Only: Who is the Daughter of the Nine Moons?

The Daughter of the Nine Moons, I would venture to say, is the Seanchan empress' daughter. Being that the Seanchan royal court is "The Court of the Nine Moons," and since a ruler is usually the embodiment of the court (i.e. Morgase is/was the Rose of Andor) I surmise that the Seanchan Empress is "The Nine Moons" or something along that line. Though, the empress could be young...

I believe this to be the best possibility that it is the daughter and that the daughter was sent by the Empress to check up on 'the return'.

The seanchan empress cannot be the DNM as she is obviously graendal. Think about it, the seanchan tastes have obviosly ben shaped around Grandal's. Examples of this are her love of pretties and all of the dancing people the seanchan have. The fact that no-one can find her, not even the chosen have an idea and so on.

Blood and bloody ashes!!!!!!!! The DNM IS the Seanchan Emperess! They have bloody said it in the books, thoug we never have met her and thereby dont know if she is 18 or 80 (Elain is actualy Queen of Andor...)!!!! So actualy I dont get the big question ........Its flaming obvious!

Actually we know nothing of the sort, because half the people that say that never have a complete reference. There is a court of the nine moons and the empress sits upon the crystal throne. But as is pointed out in the theory below, the phrase nine moons is not in sole posession of the Seanchan. Plus, give me a break, Mat is not going to marry the Empress of the Seanchan!

Mosleth, you are right about the Seanchan being more than a match for the forces surrounding Ebou Dar. However, when you state that the Daughter of the Nine Moons is "none other than the empress of the Seanchan" you are mistaken. In the (I believe...my friend has my copy of the Lord of Chaos)Epilogue of the Lord of Chaos, a Seanchan soldier (a scout, sent in to survey Ebou Dar, before the attack) is thinking back to when he was dicing with Mat. Mat said "Burn me (something or other)and the Daughter of the Nine Moons take me now if..." The fellow thinks: "If the Daughter of the Nine Moons was coming, then the Light surely would grant us victory." (I don't have my copy of the book, so I can't be sure of exact pages or quotes, but it is clear that the Daughter ofthe Nine Moons isn't the empress of the Seanchan. What do you think of that?

I think.......I dont get the point! I know about that conversation. Its a proof that the DNM is Seanchan, and the emperess. How does this prove the oposit??? I think that seanchan guy thought that she would grant victory becouse:
1. He has a huge respect to his emperess and her allways being right. If she is comming the battle must be won.
2. The practical thought. "If the DNM is coming she will probably bring reinforcements. And a lot of them." If Ive completly missed your point, something I obviously have. Pleas enlighten me! By the way thanks for suporting my teori.
