Great Omen

Before Winter's Heart - Archive Only: Who is the Daughter of the Nine Moons?

Okay, this is actually two theories I've combined into one. The first is that the DNM is not necessarily Seanchan, but she is definitely important to them. The guy in LoC thinks that if the DNM came to Randland, it would be the "greatest omen" of victory. Now, he could love his homeland like others have said, but I think the DNM is some kind of Dragon-esque figure to the Seanchan, prophecied to signify the Return like the Dragon signifies Tarmon Gai'don.

The second theory involves the Sea Folk. I'm not exactly sure how the Sea Folk clan system works, but it's been mentioned that they have nine moon clans. So, isn't it possible that the DNM is a woman who is related to all nine moon clans? Now, my combined theory is that Mat is somehow going to meet the DNM (on Tremalking?) and end up marrying her. As a revered figure in Seanchan beliefs and a possible representative of all the Sea Folk clans, Mat could put the Sea Folk and the Seanchan behind Rand at the same time, fulfilling both the belief that he has to connect the Seanchan to Rand and the Tamyrlin's belief that he's going to free the Sea Folk.

Okay, I like the 'omen' reference and I hadn't thought that Mat could also get the Seanchan by fulfilling that 'lorish' belief of theirs. Good combination but I still think the greater body of the Seanchan will continue to resist until destroyed.
