Before Winter's Heart - Archive Only: Rand, Alanna and the Bond

Concerning Rand's bond. If I remember correctly, when the group of Aes Sedai get together to discuss this, Alanna mentioned that she had tried using compulsion on Rand through the bond and it didn't work. There was some speculation as to whether this was because he could channel. My point is how can we be sure that his bond is the same as any other? It's very possible that the bond can't be transferred. It's also possible that he may find a way to break the bond on his own. I think Rand's ability to channel is a wild card that makes it really hard to speculate on what the results of this bond will be.

True, they have never bonded a male channeler and now she finds herself completely on the opposite side of the bond. I believe the bond to be the same kind of bond that we have learned about...but can the bonded person use compulsion going the other way if he can channel(does it have to do with the bond or the one power or both)? I am sure Rand, if he knew, could use compulsion on Alanna. I don't dislike female channelers but I'm glad they are finally getting a little of their own medicine thrown back in their face...
