Before Winter's Heart - Archive Only: Rand, Alanna and the Bond

In LOC, Semirage wondered about the bond between the Warder and Aes Sedai during the torture. I don't believe that Alanna is a Darkfriend. First, see seems almost caring at the end of LOC when she asks Rand how he can bear the pain from the wound in his side. Why would a Darkfriend bond the Dragon Reborn anyway, to give him even MORE strength? It doesn't make sense from a Darkfriend's point of view. I agree with the thought that it was because Rand is a Tavereen.

I would only reply that it wouldn't be a darkfriend that would want to it...it would be a forsaken telling the darkfriend to do so. Yes, the bond strengthens him but now Alanna knows where Rand is at any moment, that information is invaluable to someone trying to kill you. But I don't believe she is a darkfriend, although I do believe that it was calculated.
