he Third Woman

Before Winter's Heart - Archive Only: Miscellaneous Theories

I believe that Queen Tenobia of Saldaea (spelled right?) is the third woman that Min saw in her vision of loving Rand. It has generally been accepted that it is Aviendha, but Min has never even seen her so she can't verify this. In Path of Daggers RJ made a point of telling about Tenobia's temper and the fact that even though she was past the normal age of being married she had never taken a husband. And in Min's vision all she could tell of the third woman was that she would have a temper. I do admit that Avienda does have a temper, but it is never remarked upon like Tenobia's was in the prologue to PoD. I do know about the fortelling that Nicola had, but it never mentioned anything about the three being in love with Rand or the fact that any but she who sees beyond was even female. The lion sword could very well be Gawyn (he was supposed to protect the lion throne with his life). And the dedicated spear could be any of the aiel or more specifically a siswai'aman. Anyway I believe it would be just like RJ to throw everyone around in this way after most of us have actually agreed upon something.

I like twists, it definitely becomes RJ to do such a thing, although the last thing you mention about Nicola's 'propheyc' does seem to point the finger at Aviendha. But the generally accepted is the most often deceived. You haven't convinced me but you gave us all something to think about, nice theory.
