Before Winter's Heart - Archive Only: The Fisher King

In book 8, Moridin was playing that game with one of the pieces 'The Fisher' He said that the origin of that name was so old that even he didn't know it.

Maybe, since the game is somewhat like chess, the piece 'the Fisher' came from Bobby Fisher? Obviously very different in the present of WOTLand than in our reality, only a remnant of a memory was kept, the name, incorporated into some game resembling the one the name originated from, and now even the name is almost lost as well.

Your brain must be working overtime :) Interesting idea. I would think that RJ might have based it on a conglomeration of history, so you never know, maybe this did cross his mind.
