verything in balance

Previous Categories: Who is the other person in Rand's head?

Ok heres something that dawned on my because of a comment LTT made in "Snow" he says something like "i tried to be a builder to, but i can never build only destroy, the same with you and the other one." well here goes my theory, we all know that everything in Randland is in balance, so i think that maybe the soul of the Dragon has balance to. Maybe there is a light half(LTT) and the dark half(Ishamael) so the soul splits in half, and each half is reborn into someone elese who only has a half soul. Now this would explain alot if you think about it, it would explain LTT's comment because Ishamael(or whoever Ishy's 1/2 soul is in now)would be "the other one". It would explain who LTT can talk to Rand, because each of them make up half of the light part of the Dragons soul. Also it might explain why Ishy was never fully traped by the seals, because since it was the souls of the forsaken that were impresoned Ishy haveing only half a soul would have gotten away!

I don't know, the half soul idea is kind of strange since Ishamael already is Moridin. But what Lews Therin said is definitely puzzling. Is LTT saying that the other one is necessarily in his head, or that the other one being someone on the outside?

I believe that the "other one" Lews Therin talks about is Lan. In the Fires of Heaven when Morraine and Lanfear go through the twisted doorway, Lan told Rand that he and him were alike, that there was a darkness surrounding them and they radiate pain, death, and the like. Lews Therin must have been talking about Lan when he made that statement.

Lan was talking about their personal battles with the Dark One. Lan for having to fight a war by himself and Rand for having to fight the DO. Also how they are supposedly never going to be able to keep those around them safe till they are dead. Not linking or anything like that.

I like this theory. Personally I don't belive it, but here is some evidence for you. In the Prophecies it says that The Dragon reborn will be the salvation and (basically) the damnation of the world. Not and exact quote, but it's basically the same. It's repeated all through the first three books. Your theory would support this to mean that the dragon will both save the world yet at the same time be the cause of it destruction.

umm... this theory wasnt thought out very well, because ishamael and LTT were born in the AOL. they couldnt be at all part of the same soul. it just doesnt make sense.
