s Semirhage and Therava the same?

by yammosk: 2002-11-06 | Not yet rated

Previous Categories: Miscellaneous Theories

There is nothing abvious to support the theory, but an examination of page 281 of book 8 ( I think it is 281) leads you to notice some similarities. Then an examination of the two woman is the same (tall, hawk-faced and dark haired.) And Thereva is the wise one trying to take control of the Shaido. Also she took control of the rod (possibly one of the nine rods of dominion which she would surely recognize if one of the forsaken.) But this also begs the questions that contradict this theory: Why did Sammael and Graendal not recognize her if she is Therava when they meant Sevanna? and also, How did she infiltrate Aiel culture, if she was not there all along? It is a curious riddle I hope you enjoy if you had not noticed it yet.

Therava would probably be a really good candidate, but from Winter's Heart, the clues as to personality make it most likely that Semirhage is actually Anath with the Seanchan DNoM...I didn't and still don't like it, but the descriptions are exact matches...I will see what I can do about finding those and post them here unless someone else finds them first.

Binders (Oath Rods) are absolutely not the 9 Rods of Dominion. First, they were just standard law enforcement tools in the AOL, and second, there were lots more than 9 of them! The one Therava ends up with is number 111, and the one in the White Tower is number 3.

And Semirhage is Anath. I think the Wise ones, and hundreds if not thousands of Aiel who knew Therava for countless years while Semi was still bore-ded up might agree.

Oh, one other small point... Anath and Semirhage are black. Therava, an Aiel, is not.

I just came across what I believe to be another Anath=Semirhage reference.

The prophecy at the end of LoC says: "The unstained tower breaks and bends knee to the forgotten sign. The seas rage, and the storm clouds gather unseen. Beyond the horizon, hidden fires swell, and serpents nestle in the bosom. What was exalted cast down, what was cast down is raised up. Order burns to clear his path."

In case you missed it:

"Beyond the horizon... serpents nestle in the bosom".

Another good point that leads to the Seanchan is in that quote with **The seas rage, and the storm clouds gather unseen.**

One more thing about the thereva theory. Didnt she meet other forsaken. The whole thing about the supposed traveling cubes. IF she could weave gateways she could come up with some excuse and travel the shaido herself.
