An Hour With Harriet

2012-04-30: I had the great pleasure of speaking with Harriet McDougal Rigney about her life. She's an amazing talent and person and it will take you less than an hour to agree.

hite Tower vs. Salidar

by Takalth: 2000-12-06 | Not yet rated

Previous Categories: Rebels vs. White Tower

I don't think that there is going to be a war.

Seaine just found the black ajah, and with the accusation against Elaida, she will inevitably by put on the oath rod, which although she is not black ajah, Alviarin will be revealed, and probably several sitters among black ajah (and other random ones).

The tower will be in turmoil, and lo and behold, an invading army drops onto their doorstep. All Aes Sedai want to bury the fact that the tower was ever broken, so the easiest way to do that would be to accept Salidar's Amyrlin (the tower Aes Sedai will all make the mistake of thinking that they can control her). This will reunite the tower.

The only major problem is that Halima, Aran'gar, could ruin everything. If my theory is correct that she is using a small amount of compulsion on Egwene in "curing" the headaches that she caused herself, she will more likely than not try to start a war.

I thought that I would get to see this happen in Winter's heart, but alas, no.

I thought Alviarin left the Tower in PoD? Maybe not. While there may not be a war...the war behind the scenes will be fun to watch.

Wasn't Halima one of the Forsaken who died in the attempted seige at Shadar Logoth? I am sure that he/she met their end when they noticed those Aes Sedai and Asha'man linking. Dunno, it's been long since I have read them but that's always what I have assumed. The real plot twist is what will happen to Egwene when she realizes that Halima is no longer there to 'cure' her headaches? Go mad possibly?

No, Halima didn't die in Winters Heart, in fact I dont even think he/she participated in it. If they did I dont think Jordan mentioned it but Im not not always right. Halima is almost for sure using compulsion on Egwene.I think that maybe one of the Ashaman will meet up with Egwenes army before she attacks Tar Valon. Who knows it could even be Rand that meets up with her? Whoever meets up with her will most likely find Halima, because she channels saidin, and will tell Egwene. Egwene under the effects of compulsion will think it obsured and throw the Ashaman out, hence having Rand or an Ashaman, even though Rand can basically sum up the Ashaman himself, and someone in the Rebels, like maybe Siuan or Leane or someone, will believe the Ashaman and will handle Halima. Just a thought.

Response to Callandor: I like the way you think =). I don't know about Egwene taking it as nonsense, but it is so obvious now I should have seen it before... An Asha'man, or Rand himself, will discover that Halima channels saidin before anyone else... the question, however, is this: will it be someone on the right side? For instance, what if Taim were to be the one who discovered it? There is no "substantial" proof that Taim is for the DO, but I will eat my slippers if he is not! =) In any case, once Egwene believes it for truth, all hell is going to break loose... but then again, with the LB coming, that is going to happen anyway.

Halima was at Shadar Logoth, she was the one who presumably killed Eben in the battle (who Eben had said 'That can't be - she is holding saidin). Dashiva/Aginor was the one killed in the battle.

Yes, I just re-read the Cleansing the Taint part of WH too :-P. Aran gar (Halima) was in SL, but she was referenced as a wandering woman. Eban was in link with 2 other sisters when he said **Shes holding saidin!**, he was then killed off off screen (just so convient then) and the next time we see him hes being held in his Aes Sedais hands who he was bonded to.

Its totally possible for the Aes Sedai sisters to remember what he said, since they were most likely his last words.

Now its pretty clear that Rand will meet up with Egwene again, weather she will be freed of her captures then, be Amrylin, or still be in enemy hands when he does meet up with her again. Now unless hes a total loon, or moron, he will bring few Ashaman, almost certainly Cadsuane, and most likely a few Aes Sedai that he can trust.

Get the people that know about Halima together with Egwene or Halima and sooner or later they should put 2 and 2 together.

I agree with Takalth that the White Tower will not go to war with the SAS. It's just not like Aes Sedai to hold full fledged war against each other.

As for Halima, I think it would be cool if someone that knows Aragar channels the male source and will point her out and Rand has a battle with her. I mean, the guy truly taken out a forsaken himself since Rahvin.
