hy Dragon Reborn?

I think that an important question that needs to be asked is: Why was Lews Therin reborn? There are a couple explanations I can come up with. Bear in mind that lewis therin being reborn is different then the dragon being reborn. the dragon is the soul destined to be pivitol in the last battle, and lews therin was a individual.

possiblilty one: Thats just the way it works. Every dragon is the previous one reborn. As you get further away from the current life though, it fades and you can only hear so far back. So the next dragon might have rand and lews therin a little, but not the third voice.

possibility 2: There was some need that the pattern had for someone with lews therins skills and talents, or something only he could provide to come back. Since there is no establishment of male channelers at the time of rands birth it is possible that lews therin was included so that rand could survive.

possibity 3. Lews therin was too attached to this life due to the killing of everyone he loved, and possibly the manner in which he killed himself. The personality of lews therin lived on and will continue to until his grief is resolved. (i doubt this one, but i had to put it)

I think it is a mix of your one and two (as with you I think three is highly unlikely.), plus I think there is a little bit of the taint and T'A'R and ta'veren involved. But I guess when we are speaking of the Pattern it can do as it will and make those things happen. Rand needed those memories but not until he started running into old enemies so you have a some dejavu episodes, you have the taint, you have his ta'veren abilities that can force his will in some case and you have the Pattern getting involved to keep him alive. All of these events might make this incarnation of the Dragon somewhat different than others.

Kind of an odd theory, but what about souls? If LTT died on Dragonmount but his soul didn't go to wherever souls go in WOT, then maybe it stuck around waiting for somebody to possess...maybe cause LTT was grief stricken over Ilyena. Then Shaiel came around and gave birth to Rand. Near the same place LTT died and where his soul would have waited for 3,000 years.

If that's true, then maybe it's not so much that only the Dragon can fight the LT, but that only the Dragon is strongly ta'veren enough to weaken the seals so the DO can break free. So maybe the Pattern needs someone to break the seals so that the Forsaken will die and not terrorize another age that doesn't know anything about them.

Otherwise it seems a little silly. The person meant to fight the LB is the one doing the most weakening of the seals. Without him, there wouldn't be any LB to fight.
