C'mon...you didn't think this board could be immune for long, did you?

I was at the gym this afternoon, and I noticed that Fox News was on. Of course they were talking about the PA primary tomorrow and the polling and so forth--all the usual useless statistics and guessing that take place before a vote.

Then they cut to commercial. Somewhat oddly, it was for Obama, which I thought was interesting since it was Fox News. But not that interesting. I remarked to my buddy that I (gratefully) didn't realize the ads had started in Oregon yet, since I haven't watched TV in a couple weeks.

Anyway, nothing too unusual until I saw the very next commercial, which was was a commercial for "Discovering Islam" and how Islam is a peaceful religion and how Jesus was a prophet and Muslims are nice and all that.

Now c'mon. Fox News got in trouble in the first place for trying to make Obama into muslim, and hinting that he was indoctrinated at "madrasa" when he was a kid, etc. They've continued to get mileage out of that stupid Kenyan picture of Obama in tribal garb, etc. Now they deliberatly put an ad for Islam on right after an Obama commercial?

I know, I know...Fox News is biased. Everyone knows that. But I don't have cable at home--I didn't realize it was this bad...

~innocent look~ You mean Fox News isn't really Fair and Balanced?

More seriously, I'm not really surprised that they'd do that... They're kind of ridiculous.

Hehe, there's a debate like this on the old board, too. Wonder how McCain is going to address this without being caught. Because all's fair in love, war and election years.

You wonder at this from the network that repeatedly puts a (D) behind the names of Republican congressmen who are caught in sex or other kinds of scandals?

Nah. Fair and balanced. Its the facts that are biased. Gotta change em to keep things balanced.

I gotta remember to check this board more often. It's all politics as usual.

Hey, btw Dog. We are on for June 11 thru June 15. I'll email you and give you my phone number so we can make plans. All depends on when SoE wants to go to Portland though...

I gotta remember to check this board more often.

Use this link: http://www.theoryland.com/vbulletin/subscription.php?do=addsubscription&f=11 and set it for a daily summary e-mail.

I don't normally subscribe to threads or forums, but the current level of activity here means it's not worth checking very often.

Did I mention that my stepmom actually believes Obama is Muslim with an Islam agenda? I like to think that my dad doesn't believe that because he'll never agree with her when she brings it up around me (he says that he believes that Obama thinks he's a Christian, but his version of Christianity is so different from dad's that of course he's not really a Christian). But dad is the reason stepmom watches FOX news all day. She was campaigning for Clinton in '92 when they met...

Dad never really claimed a candidate before it was all over with. The only ones he didn't despise out of the "main" lot were Romney, Huckabee, and Thompson, and the only one of those three he really liked was Thompson. I don't blame him...they were a sad lot...
