So, how many of you have read the Mistborn books yet by Brandon Sanderson?
I've read both (just finished Well of Ascension last night!) and I have to say I'm delightfully giddy about them. They're great -- leaps and bounds better than Elantris.
So if you've read them, let me know. I'm dying to talk to someone about them and nobody I know around here even remotely enjoys reading "those kinds of things".

Well of ascension was better than Mistborn and both were better than Elantris.
His system of magic in the Mistborn series is unique in my experience and reasonable well thought out, but that's really the only kind thing to say I can think of at the moment.

I've read all three so far. Elantris and both Mistborn novels. I agree that the mistborn are better than Elantris. I'm really looking forward to the third Mistborn. Vin's abilities and her inner arguments are well written and fun to read as well.

The end of the 2nd book was so out of nowhere for me but totally cool!
10/20/08 baby!
So can we have a spoilers thread, lol

I've read Mistborn but not Well of Ascension. I liked Mistborn a lot and I hope WoA is as good. If everyone liked it so far then I prolly will too.

I enjoyed both Mistborns. the ending of ascension didn't shock me, but I lurked on his forums and read as much as i could about the magics and stuff without spoiling the story for me.

Yup...you can tell that BS is progressing as a writer from Elantris through Mistborn...there's a definite improvement in his ability as he continues to write. I honestly didn't care too much for Mistborn 2 until about 500 pages in and then BS knocked it out of the park with the final 100 page ending.

I've read Elantris, both Mistborn, and each version of Warbreaker as it came out. I've been a Sanderson fan since long before he was announced for aMoL.
I liked Elantris, but in a very different way than his subsequent publications.
Mistborn started slowly for me... of course I *had* just come out of WoT re-read. ;) Once I got into it, though, I couldn't stop. I was similarly shattered when I had to wait for the second installment as I was between later books in WoT. I enjoyed Well of Ascension more than the Final Empire, although I loved both... and I'm anxiously waiting for October to see how this ends... especially with regards to [SPOILER] and with [SPOILER]. :D
