The New Spring comic series, which is 8 issues long, was started in 2005 and was published up through issue #5. It tells the story of the search for the infant Dragon Reborn and of the adventures of Moiraine Damodred, a young Aes Sedai, and Lan Mandragoran, the uncrowned king of a long-dead nation. Dabel Brothers Publishing will be finishing the series in 2009, with issue #6 shipping in April, and issues 7 and 8 each shipping on a monthly basis thereafter.

About bloody time! Supposedly they are being shipped to all the original subscribers... hope my address change doesn't foul things up...

That announcement is a bit dated. The final release date of Issue #6 is May 20, 2009.

Well, it isn't May 20, 2009, yet, is it?

I saw the new date in a different article, but I was too lazy to update my post. The main gist is that they are finishing the series though!

No, but there's a newer press release by the DB from last week about the New Spring mini-series. I was just surprised to see the old one from February instead.

I posted the newest one that I could find from their web site...I didn't notice the date since I was at work and in a rush, but you are right, I found a newer press release on Dragonmount.

This additional information about the original subscription should be of interest to you:

"Dabel Brothers Productions (“DB Pro”) announced today that all persons having a subscription for Robert Jordan’s New Spring comic from Red Eagle Entertainment will soon be receiving the final three issues of the series from DB Pro at no charge.

New Spring tells the story of the search for the infant Dragon Reborn and of the adventures of Moiraine Damodred, a young Aes Sedai, and Lan Mandragoran, the uncrowned king of a long-dead nation. In 2005 and 2006, five of a planned total of eight issues of the New Spring comic were produced by DB Pro and published by Red Eagle Entertainment. In a press release made in February of 2009, DB Pro announced that it will be publishing the final three issues of New Spring in 2009, beginning with issue #6 in April, 2009, and with issues 7 and 8 shipping on a monthly basis thereafter. Red Eagle Entertainment has provided DB Pro with its master subscriber list, and DB Pro has attempted to contact all of these persons through the e-mail address that was used to originally sign up for the New Spring comic.

Because many of these subscribers have since relocated or changed their e-mail addresses since purchasing their subscriptions from Red Eagle Entertainment, any persons who have not been contacted by DB Pro about New Spring, or who have changed their postal address since registering with Red Eagle Entertainment, should immediately contact DB Pro at ldabel@dabelbrothers.com in order to ensure the timely delivery of their final issues of the New Spring comic.

“With the help and support of Red Eagle Entertainment and Harriet Rigney we are very happy to publish the long-awaited final issues in the New Spring comic series,” said Les Dabel, Vice President of DB Pro. “We wish DB Pro great success in the completion of the New Spring comic and in their future work adapting Robert Jordan’s much-beloved series The Wheel of Time to the visual medium of comics and graphic novels,” said Larry Mondragon, Executive Vice President of Red Eagle Entertainment."

Thanks for the info, Dom. I heard they were going to do something like this, but hadn't heard their plans for implementing it. I will email them asap, since I had moved since this whole debacle occurred.

Best of luck. I hear the DB online store has the best intentions but it is notoriously disorganized, though as they make you email directly the company's president, perhaps they're not taking any chance this time (wouldn't want the NS fiasco to come hurt them for EOTW?).

I'm glad it's easy for me to get DB comics locally - the online subscription thing was a bit... epic.
