Nothing new on his Blog despite a post yesterday...the tracker thing is up to 19% so he's slowly but surely slogging through it at around 1 % a week lately.

I can't remember, didn't Brandon estimate he'd be getting about 1% per week most of the time?

Saw him at a signing, he's a cool guy.

19% completed with the book?

Davian93

I believe its 19% completed with the 1st draft of the book to be exact Tam.

That's correct, Dav:p

Gandelail

what must you hurry to do, tam?
(if you don't mind the asking)

Tamyrlin

Oh wait - just did that...hmm...

Gandelail

Tamyrlin is writing his own version of AMoL, which he will submit to Harriet and Tor. He wants to get his done before BS.

I see... I had wondered

We saw you wondering there. :p

Crispy, how did Tam get RJ's notes?

how did Tam get RJ's notes?

That's what I'm most interested in... must have been some fancy subterfuge to get such a prize.

No, no- he has to finish the Theoryland Encyclopedia of Theories published under the label Hard Core Fan Freaks (ala Steven Vander Ark).

It's no good publishing a book of theories when most will be killed in Book 12.:p He's gotta hurry!

He obviously stole them when he was in Atlanta! Duh....

They were taped to the top of Camel's pizza box.

accusations abound, and I'm sure there's 'truth' in all!
haha... poor tam :)

Tamyrlin

Think twice next time I will.

I would like to put together a "write the final scene" section of the theories. We'll see if I have time to get it done right.

I would like to put together a "write the final scene" section of the theories.

That could be a lot of fun, tam! But don't stress about it yet, you've got enough to worry about right now.

Yeah, that does sound like fun.

so, at 1% a week, when does that put the book as being done?

caladanbrood

Nearly 2 years.

I was about to say he's as bad as Martin, but... well, he isn't :D

Terez

No one's that bad. :p

Jordan has written large sections of the book in the beginning, middle and especially the ending. So in between we wil see the bar go up faster, i think;)

Brandon has said earlier that his progressbar is only calculated on the words he himself are gonna write. He hasn't counted the parts already written. So the progress will probably be pretty linear, what I think might change is that he gets into the rythm of writing, more comfortable doing it, that might speed it all up.

I firmly believe we will get this at the end of next year.

on the yuku board:
1st draft will be finished on or around January 31st 2009 at his current pace... or was it February 31st? or 2029?

I think I was right:

So, I'll probably start the progress bar assuming the book will be 300k long, then update it later when I have a better idea of its length. I will be needing to go and touch up the sections that Mr. Jordan wrote. (They are in rough draft from. As I've mentioned, I intend to leave them as pristine as is possible for the novel, with as minor editing as is possible while still maintaining the integrity of the novel.) Therefore, I'll start the bar at 0%, and once a section of pages is touched up or written by me, I'll update accordingly.

BS says here that the progression bar goes up once BS writes a section or pages that were written by RJ were touched by BS.
So I think I am right and the bar might go fast up sometimes.

Otherwise give me the other quote....

Another week, another percentage point. He's now at 20% complete as of about 5 min ago.
