Uno done got himself all publishified and stuff. His article was finally accepted by the American Indian Quarterly (http://www.nebraskapress.unl.edu/catalog/productinfo.aspx?id=673174&AspxAutoDetectCookieSupport=1). i assume he'll let us read it once it's published.

Congrats, Uno.

I've been informed that I'll need to be published to get into grad school. :s Either that or present something at a conference...

That's a hell of a stringent requirement, Terez!

Congrats, Little-Near-bro!

I know, right? I don't have to get published in one of the top 5 journals or anything, but still...

Isn't the mantra of grad school publish or perish?

That's not supposed to be the case till Post-Doc, though I see it has trickled downward.

Only in some fields, I think. Musicology and music theory are the only fields in music where publishing is really expected.

The article should've been published close to a year ago if you ask me, but there were delays. That'll happen with academic publishers, which reminds me that I should probably call the editor at Cornell about my book manuscript. I imagine you can read the article by buying the journal....I've already signed over the copyright to the press, so I probably shouldn't disseminate it too much.

If only I was the slightest interested in American Indian history (that was your topic right?) :)

Congrats!

Congrats! I plan on eventually PhDing...different subject, and who knows if I ever will, but that's the plan, anyways...

I'll have to google scholar it or something and have a look....

Yeah, that was my plan (to purchase the article separately). Too bad it won't show up in my school's free archive for a few years...
