I can't believe Where the Wild Things are has been made into a movie!
I just watched the trailer, and apart from becoming incredibly nostalgic, I am SO excited about this, it's quite unreal. (Maybe I need to get out more?)

Considering the trailer has been out for a few months... yes, you need to get out more ;)

I can't remember the Dutch title, but I recognize the monsters. :)

What makes me most happy about the trailer is seeing that the Wild Things are people in costumes and not CGI... :D

Awesome book.

They should make Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs (http://www.amazon.com/Cloudy-Chance-Meatballs-Judi-Barrett/dp/0689707495) into a movie too.

AWESOME!!! (http://www.cloudywithachanceofmeatballs.com/) (Apparently they are)

Awesome. I knew they were making the Wild Things movie, I just hadn't seen the trailer.

Okay, that made me a bit weepy. I would have killed for a pair of pyjamas like that as a kid. I wanted them SO badly.

Movies...
We've been on a bit of a bender with movies lately. Finally saw Up! (good!) and the new Transformers. Now I should probably see the old Transformers....

But Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs looks like it has potential and so does the new G.I. Joe. I am quite sure I'll be taking the dudes to that one. Tomorrow at 10:00 - Harry Potter!

I read Where the Wild Things Are a thousand times, I swear! And I stared at the pictures for hours, especially the one where his room is half-turned into the forest. Never mind the pajama's, I wanted my room to turn into a forest!

Of course I have it for my kids...they don't seem to love it as much as I did....

Anybody ever read The Secret World of Og (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Secret_World_of_Og)?

No, Tal. It won't make you cry. It's touching in parts but you'll be fine.

Um, really? Cause you know I cry at phone commercials and almost all Disney movies right? I thought she DIES.

I've heard that Up is very emotional. I KNOW I would cry. I didn't used to be such a sap. It really doesn't matter if it's happy/sad, I am crying. It's really quite embarrassing at the theatre.

Yeah, almost everyone I've talked to has cried at Up. Is it still out?

SHH! DC do not tell TAL that she will cry. God. I was saving it. I did tear up a little but not for long. It's a good movie. We just saw it last week but I don't know if it's still playing where you are. Maybe at the budget cinemas?

The movie I am getting a little worked up over is Tim Burton's take on Alice in Wonderland with Johnny Depp as the Mad Hatter. How can that not be quite high on the awesome scale?

ZOMG! Check out the Cast for this! (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1014759/) Not only is Johnny Depp the Mad Hatter, but Helena Bonham Carter is the Red Queen and Alan Rickman is in it too! Whee!

Those pictures look AWESOME.

Never read the Alice books - there are two queens?

Well, the Red Queen shouted Off with their heads a lot and the White Queen played croquet with flamingos, IIRC.

I've been looking forward to Alice in Wonderland ever since I found out about it.. (didn't I post another silly/excited thread here for that, including pictures?) I love alan rickman, christopher lee and stephen fry almost as much as johnny depp and helena bc.
I wanted to go and see Up, but somehow never got round to it.. maybe that's good. I cry at everything these days; I spent over an hour bawling through a DVD about breastfeeding because the babies were so cute..

You have an excuse, too. You're Canadian!

I dunno, I've probably seen Mama Mia five or six times (since it is one of the Great Khan's current favorites) and the part where Mother and Daughter are getting ready for the wedding still causes a catch in my throat.

~sobs~ And then there's that scene in BloodSport where Tong Po throws the powder in Frank Dux' face...~sobs~

I gotta go...
