You would think the above title would be obvious...even to teenagers...but then you'd be wrong.

Is this a good time to post this photo of me in australia, or is that in bad taste?

Too bad you don't have a pic of you tied up on the tracks. :p

Yes, you could have been a role reversed Gentleman In Distress, with a beautiful damsel coming to your rescue.

How I wish ;)
There was at the time, a train speeding towards me down that track. Of course it was at least 13 hours away at that point, so I wasn't too worried...

I can't believe there was some jackass in the comments who blamed the train.

That's why I generally don't read comments on news articles, etc. - it's usually a bunch of idiots. Everyone knows that trains can't stop anything close to quickly...and what sort of dumbass lays out on train tracks?

Gil...didn't you know that a teenage girl is never at fault...kids in general are never at fault...its always someone else and its always a big bad company in cases like this.

lol...Brood was not laying there with headphones on, not even paying attention to whether a train might be coming. Because he is not dumb. :p

Well quite. Though I'm not sure brave applies, I'll take whatever I can get:D

I thought the best part of the article were the comments. You could tell that all the North Berwick people also had been skipping school, because their comments were rife with spelling and grammatical errors.
Its callous, but these girls deserved what they got. They could have sunbathed literally 5 feet away and been perfectly safe from harm... wtf were they doing ON the tracks? And asleep? When they know the train comes through twice a day? Probably at the same time of day?
Events like these are called "natural selection in industrial society"

You people are too harsh. They're hardly the first people to innocently fall asleep on train tracks and they sure won't be the last. It's an easy mistake to make tbh.

I've been on train tracks when a train was coming, and they vibrate like crazy; you'd think they would have been woken up...

They were probably drugged up with ADD meds or Daddy's Methadone.

You think the article would have mentioned that had it been the case... then again, they were innocent little girls...

They might not even know about any illicit drug use...and as they are minors they wouldn't have realized it neccessarily...especially any anti=depressant type stuff.
