I have to say that in reality it looks a lot messier than the text books made magnetic recombining appear. Interesting, true, very interesting, but probably not much fun to have to untangle during an exam.
Very useful that they got it in two widely different wavelengths: both X-Rays and and ultraviolet. Having a visual observation too might have been neat, but I don't think it would have added all that much, considering the energy levels involved in this.
Wonder who I have to kill to write for NASA?
Get religion quick, and if you happen to catch the right one*, then Bush may give you a job without looking at your other qualifications. Of course, that'll only be a job until the end of the year, but it is a beginning.

Alternatively, you could kill all politicians; that might make NASA so happy that they'll give you a job of your choice out of gratitude.

* Some sort of Baptism, I think.
