All the buttons and icons on the forum suffer from being made for a light background (the default vBulletin light blue theme) and placed on a dark background (TL's present colors). There are jagged and ugly white edges on most buttons and icons. For example the directory icons, the post new reply button, the quote button, etc.

I think it would be nice if those icons and buttons could be replaced with ones that properly antialize with the background (fits smoothly, without edges). Do you plan on doing something about this, Tam?

Personally I like Tango! icons.

Here are some examples:

Tango icons for the Gnome desktop:

I couldn't find any other set of Tango icons made for forum use than these:

But since it's not that many icons we are talking about, I don't think it will be hard to gather suitable ones from the mass of Tango icons out there.

All Tango icons I've seen are under a free licence.

good idea PS. i bet Tam could even go old school and get the buttons from the original TL page. Those were made for a dark background. ;)

Is that page still up? Do you have a link? I don't recall how they looked. Though I guess that is no surprise since I in all likelyhood never actually posted on that old school board. :)
