Since I haven't seen it mentioned yet (haven't read all the posts in this forum, so maybe I missed it)...

The True Power can apparently melt cuendillar?

According to Moghedian (TSR ch 54), the collar on the Domination Band was made from cuendillar. Elayne channelling Fire wasn't even able to warm it up. And yet, Rand was able to instantly melt the Band with the True Power. Clearly, it's still made of cuendillar, since the balefire that Rand used to kill Semirhage and Elza left behind the bracelets.

So what sort of implications will this have later? The seals are already weak, so no point in using the TP to destroy them now, but why wasn't it done sooner? It's a weird sort of revelation to leave for this late in the game. Thoughts?

Its further evidence that destroying the Seals doesn't free the Dark One or even really mean much. The DO wasn't free when there were no Seals so there's no need to break them early on when all the pieces aren't in place. The DO and Moridin are playing for the win here and have the big picture in mind. They want to break the Seals on their time and it clearly isn't yet.

Though Moridin's demand to find them in the Forsaken Social in KoD implies that that time is coming.

Yeah, we talked about this on another thread, though I don't recall where. I just remember having to dig up the quote that says the Domination Band was made of a form of cuendillar.

I think it might have something to do with why the seals weakened in the first place. The One Power strengthens cuendillar, but the True Power can erode/destroy it. But yeah, it's not necessary for Rand to destroy the seals.

Which of course begs the question, why don't they just keep "charging up" the seals by channeling at them with the OP?

Of course, that would be lame, but you still have to ask yourself...

Probably because they don't think it will work, with the seals in a weakened state.

Besides, rechanneling them in that manner could very well open the OP up to the Taint once again. The Seals are touching the DO and would provide a conduit for another taint.

I got the impression that the seals were"focal points" for the weaves meant to hold the DO shut away from our reality. Breaking the seals is meant to imply IMO, that the weaves no longer hold since the focal points are made of 'indestructible cuendillar'. Unfortunately, it may be possible that the destruction of the 'focal points' has nothing to do with the seals themselves.

That would be a good reason for Moridin's orders to get the other seals.
