My dad's having a Kidney transplant on Tuesday, it was bumped up from January. My step-mom is giving him the kidney, so just leaning on you guys as usual for support that all goes well.

My family has a history of polycystic kidney disease, some of you I think saw the pics of my cousins 16 lbs of kidneys he had replaced (well he only got 1) a couple years ago. He had the aggressive type my father had the slow one, like most of my family, hence being 50 before he needed the trasplant.

Anywho I think that makes 4 transplants and 2 donors in my family, I'll find out in a couple years if I have it, hopefully skips me though :) I'll prolly have to give a kidney up for one of my siblings. Whats funny is the person donating has the worse surgery :(

They probably meant emotions, or gifts from the heart. Kidneys count too.

Whats funny is the person donating has the worse surgery

Depends on how big the recipient's kidneys are--if they're huge, they sometimes have to take those out before putting in the transplant.

I'll find out in a couple years if I have it

If you get a lot of UTI's, you probably have it.

Best of luck to both your dad and step-mom.

All went well this morning, and we actually added a third surgery to the day on our grandfather to stop a bleed into his lung... I'm kinda numb right now between this, work and life in general...
