I graduate from high school tonight! :D Not sure how I feel about that; I've always been a nerd, and loved school, so I think I'm going to be a bit depressed. :D

I have to speak at the dang thing , and it's going to be really hot and really humid here, so I'm freaking out right now! :D But I'm sure it will be fun...

But I thought I graduated 8 years ago...do I have to come too or will this other part of my personality be able to handle it?

Congrats!!

Yes Ire- what next? You could still be in school for along time of you chose- you could even be one of those career students that just goes from one program to another.

And good luck on your speech- enjoy the moment, it will be a memory for a lifetime.

Any special reason you get to speak? Or did you say "not me" last? :)

Congrats dude, life is only beginning!

Don't worry about it. I had to speak at my graduation last year - and I am totally not a public speaker - and I stressed about it for a long time, but it ended up fine. It's not that big of a deal. You'll do great. Congrats on graduating!

Thanks everyone. :D

Yeah, I just got back. It went very well, besides the heat, and the fact I tripped and almost fell on my way up to the mike. :D And I hate getting my picture taking, and everyone wanted one, so that was bad, but other than that...

I gave a short speech because I was in charge of the graduation committee, and we decided not to have a guest speaker; we would rather hear from some of our fellow students, and I was asked to give one, and I couldn't say no.

What am I doing next? Working, going to the local college for general education stuff, going on a mission for my Church for two years, than coming back to finish college and become a teacher (either history or english.)

Again, thanks! :D

...going on a mission for my Church for two years...

No way!! Where? I went to Albania with Teen Missions when I was 17, but that was just for the summer. Volunteer work/mission work overseas is one of those dreams I have temporarily on hold while my family is young...it is a very good idea to go now, while you have no one to worry about but yourself :)

I don't know where I am going yet. I'll find out a couple months before the 19th birthday. And there is no guarentee this will be overseas; but since I did well in school, there is more of a chance I will be going abroad. :D

What is the church mission? Smiting the infidels? :D

It's probably one of those fetching missions. You know, fight your way through an army of infidels, grab the holy relic of smiting, then with your newfound power, smite your way back to safety. Somewhere along the way, a damsel in distress will require your assistance, but this is a purely optional side quest, usually.

Side quest??? That's the main reason I'm doing it! :D But I'm going on a noble steed, not a bike, or anything else.

Same here, cathar.

Oh, and Zaela, PHD. 8-9 years. We'll see. :D
