Click the Edit button at the lower right corner of the original post. There should be a delete option there.

Are you seeing it on any other posts? Tam may have it set so you can delete delete anything but the first post in a thread (because deleting the first post also deleted every other post in the thread.)

You may be able to edit the title of the thread to difrinitate it from the one with the actual book suggestions, or that may require a moderator, too.
