View Full Version : The Great Hunt for a WoT Secret

Just in case you have been missing what has been happening since last Tuesday all around Theoryland (as I haven't seen many of you participating) is the hunt for a Wheel of Time secret slowly being revealed by the discovery of "codes" left by Brandon during his tour stop. Of course, for those that can't make it, we've been guessing codes, as we've discovered they are Chapter titles for TofM.

There are a bunch of threads about this, but if you are interested I recommend going here: http://www.theoryland.com/thegreathunt.php and here to begin: https://docs.google.com/View?docID=dcjspjqg_881z2xd56fn&revision=_latest

Come take a moment and guess some titles.

Theoryland has really risen to the occasion so far to establish ourselves as the quasi-official Hunt site. Brandon helped when he tweeted our thread about the hunt - there was a thread at Dragonmount too, and though both Luckers and I tweeted that link to Brandon, I think he was reluctant to tweet it because Dragonmount was supposed to transfer to the new site the next day, which would have meant the discussion would move also. Then later, Brandon tweeted my google doc which Tam linked above. Most of the new users who have guessed codes - generally non-forum folks - have joined here, and posted their guesses here. Yay!

So what you're saying is the HCFF takeover is imminent... awesome

Brandon called us out in a tweet in regards to the hunt: http://www.theoryland.com/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=3879

Specifically: 'Note, this clue is filed under "No hint is too obscure for theoryland." The hint is: "Third" #wotgh (More hints on this code will come.)'

So bring your obscure selves up to that thread and get brainstorming already.

I'm thinking, I'm thinking! But I'm sure you don't want me to post every little bot of nonsense that pops into my brain :p

What kind of secret are we talking about here? If it's from the next book, well the thing will be out in a couple of months, so that's hardly worth the hassle, and I'd rather not have any spoilers, anyway.

It's an excerpt from the book (probably chapter one). The clues are chapter titles, which can either be found in copies of TWOK (no purchase necessary) or guessed. The guessing is the fun part.

The guessing is the fun part.

Ah, fun. Not something I tend to indulge in, of course.
