The comic con is October 8th-10th. Apparently the gw2 demo is only on Friday night and also apparently the con closes 7pm that night so I'd have to take a day off from work to see the demo. Dunno if I want to do that

Well if you miss that one there is always hope that Anet will show the demo at PAX East in March.

I'm seriously hoping that GW2 will be out before March. Hell, I'm still opening for the end of November.

I took the day off. Unfortunately from what I can tell, Brandon's panel and the gw2 demo take place at the exact same time

However it looks like Brandon may do a signing the next day at the Tor booth.

you've seen panels before...but you haven't yet had a chance to play the GW2 demo.

True, but there are 2 other authors on that panel that I'd be interested in seeing since I recently read books by them. Not to mention the possibility of long lines (for both the gw2 demo and the panel) which I find very annoying - I'm not a patient person LOL.

Last year's Comic Con had 77000 people...

arenanet New York Comic Con is next week! Want to play the Guild Wars 2 demo? Enter in our fansites' contests for VIP spots! http://cot.ag/ajaUnB

So it's good news, bad news. Good news is that the demo is after the convention at a local hotel after hours party. Bad news is that it is first-come, first-served.

I will try to get in, however. Hopefully it's not too crazy!

Nope, no pressure.

On a completely unrelated topic, aren't the Guild Leader elections coming up soon? =P

I played the demo as a level 45 Charr Ranger, since the other players in my group wanted to play in one of the dynamic events, so I had a steep learning curve in that I skipped the tutorial area. After a few minutes, the event triggered, and we ended up battling and defeating a dragon called the Shatterer though it took about 25 minutes LOL. We may have gotten help from some A-Net folks that were playing in the area, but I'm not sure. After getting 1-hit when I got too close, I retreated to a mortar and blasted away. The graphics are awesome, though they take getting used to. The controls are a bit different, and I will have to start using the keyboard to move around, since now the mouse is used for other things, such as aiming projectiles.

I'm in at least 2 of them (some are too dark to tell). I will post which ones when I get home. One of them is waiting on line (my back is to the camera) and one is at the MMO panel.
