He sent me a text message Monday night while I was in class, and he had apparently just got to the bit where Mat and Aviendha are killed, and couldn't read any further before going to class. So he says, "Okay so is Rand going to use balefire on Rahvin? That's the only thing that would make sense." So I write back, "Jeez if you are asking that question then you don't have far to read to find out." And he writes back, "But I'm in class and I wanna know!" Poor kid. I didn't write him back after that. :D But just now I got something from him on MSN (and by the time I got it he was gone):
"I loooooooooooooove Wheel of Time! ~dances all around~ I knew it I knew it I knew it I knew it I knew it bwahahahahaha!"
I just met this guy last this past school year because he lived in my dorm and his roommate was in my sociology class, and we all smoke and we're all night owls so we all crossed paths outside the dorm on a regular basis. The roommate is also an old WoT fan, at least 10 reads, knows his stuff pretty darn good (he used to discuss it online but now he just does WoT RPG stuff).
So I wonder what the noob is going to think of Lord of Chaos. :D

A friend that I work with had read up through the beginning of book 5 but never finished it. Well I finally convinced him to keep going with the series because "there is a question I have to ask you when you finish book 5". well he finally finished it and knew right away what my question was ;) :D. I loaned him book 6 and he's working on that one right now.

Did he have a suspect?

I hope we get an answer to that one, Terez. It would be very interesting to see what a first timer would think without the contamination of the years debating that question here.
"All roads lead to Asmodean Stadium."

TS -- I like your posts and am glad you came to TL ... but if you don't learn a few punctuation marks I'm going to go mad. MAD, I tell you!
You wouldn't like me when I'm mad...

Alright, sorry. I'll try to be more literate in the future.

Terez, try to suggest Taimandredism to your friend.

I know when that happened when I was first reading it, I was so caught up in it I didn't even think of possible outcomes, I just kept reading. :D

Terez, try to suggest Taimandredism to your friend.
I'm sure he will come up with it on his own when he reads Lord of Chaos. :D

His only thought was it had to be one of the Forsaken. but he didn't delve too deeply into possibilities or trying to eliminate suspects.
Pretty sure he has internet but not sure how much free time he has to devote to this craziness ;)

My one and only moment like that in the whole series was when Amys was revealing the truth about Rands parentage in tSR. I was literally bouncing out of my seat the entire time.

Bazaro me, this is Tworiverswoman. Her best friend and most passionate lover is her copy of "Eats, Shoots and Leaves." It's one of her idiosynchosies that we love. You should start referring to her as "Smooth." It'll be sufficiently irksome.
And Smooth, while we're on the subject; haven't you learned by now that seekers have shitty grammar skills? God, you'd think a year of working with me would do that. ;) It's in our genetic makeup.

Terez, I'm having a mind blank and this seemed like as good a thread as any to ask you; how do you start a poll again?

You do know we have a private messaging system here don't you? :p
Anyway, when you're making the thread, scroll down below the first submit button and you'll see some advanced options, including poll submissions.

Must be the time of year to addict people to WoT. I Just got a friend reading, too.
Well, more of an aquiantance than a friend, but he's hooked. He's working on the second book right now. He's rather excited. His favorite scene in book one is Rand getting Tam to town, after the attack.
He said he was on the bus reading and some random person asked if that was his first time to read the series. He told him yes, and this dude told him not to even bother after book 5.
I growled a little and told him to keep reading, he said he planned to.

I've also converted two people recently. Go us all for spreading the WoT love!! *pats everyone on the back*
One of my friends has shot through all 11 books and is now at the stage of wanting to draw it all out, work out all the links, work out who all the people and possibilties are...bless her, I remember that fondly. Then I discovered the internet. At least I know what to buy her for birthday's and Christmas now :D
My other friend (well, kind of friend) reckons after reading book 1 he knows exactly what is going to happen, he can see it all coming, (by which he means he knows everything. He's such a know-it-all like that). Ha! I defy him. I don't see how it's possible for anyone to predict what's going to happen. I wish I could be there to see his face when he finally realises just much more deep and thorough this series is going to be compared to anything he's ever read before.

My friend is now on the third book. He called me up and said "are you home, yet?" I wasn't, I told him I'd be there in about an hour. He told me "ok, good, I've got 50 pages to go and I need the next book"
hehehehe :D
I remember when I was reading TSR. I started reading just after dinner around 7 (somewhat halfway down the book) and stopped reading when I finished the book. Then I wondered about the total silence in the house (I was still living with my parents back then). Looked on my watch to find out it was 2:45 in the morning.
NON STOP reading, I could not put it away
did get me a huge headache the next morning tho... :o

I saw a man on the bus reading WoT... but couldn't muster the courage to discuss it with him (he was creepy looking).
On that note, the cover art for WoT is much nicer in Australia than it is in the States. I like the simple cover much more than the illustrated one. Looks classier

Too right!!!
I really don't like seeing the pictures on the covers, they ruin what I've imagined all the characters look like.
...he is on the first quarter of LoC atm.
I thought i curious that, when asked who he thought killed Asmodean, said that it must be Graendal or Sammael.
He also mentioned to me about book 3 thhat he thought that one of the Forsaken disguising as Mazrim Taim would be a perfect way to infiltrate. When Taim is introduced, he was so confident he is right. :P He even mentioned Demandred!
