The owner was close to calling the police, but I think it may have been worth it.

yeah, we broke into an old farmhouse to take those photos.
these two were takin in the barn, but we went into the house as well.
at some point, the owner walked in on us, gave us a very strange look, asked quite rudely what we were doing, breaking into his house, that it's private property, we should get the hell out, or he would call the police.. he did give us another 15 minutes though, by which we had finished and packed up.

great thing is that the photographer used all the natural light we had in there, and didn't even use the reflectors she brought.

CONGRATS on the job opportunity! Though me being my usual trouble focused self (hey, it comes with the territory of being a law school grad), I also have to throw in some words of caution. I know the big time modeling industry can put some huge pressure on girls to conform to the standard image what of a model is supposed to look like and I know that pressure can lead to some less than desirable habits among many models. I know for a fact that you're smart enough to realize all that and that you will probably be fine, but I just want to make sure that you are careful and don't let anyone pressure you into doing things that you may not normally do just for the sake of your modeling career.

I'm sure gonna check the small print, but really, all I need to know if the contract is exclusive or non-exclusive, and what their percentage is for all my jobs.
I'm expecting them to be paying for all travel and other side costs anyway.
I think I also get to take the contract home with me before signing it, in case I want to check on anything.
it's a good thing I'm signing now, though, because most contracts are for 12 months first, and then get renewed. I don't want to have to be stuck in britain next year, if I do get into one of the schools in the US. (but maybe I can take advantage and get my agency to transfer me to an agency in the area :D )

Well in case you do buy a goat farm by mistake, there are several bright sides.

1. If you're an animal lover, goats can be kind of cute.

2. If you don't think goats are cute, they can be awfully tasty.

3. If don't want to eat them, you can still milk them!

4. If you don't like goat milk, then you can make feta!

5. And if none of those brightsides work for you, then at the very least, you'll have a farm you can sneak onto and do a photo shoot without having the cops called on you. :p

well, it's not exactly standardised as such, but there is a standard amout of things that should be included in all contracts from good agencies.
if they give you a non-exclusive, that means I can still go to castings and find jobs myself, as well as what they find me, and they don't get a percentage of those.
with the exclusive contract, everything you do goes through the agency, but they usually find you more jobs, and I think the percentage they take is smaller.
apart from that, the contract should include some kind of get-out clause, way of payment, liabilities... the small print is usually about 4-5 pages long.

I like goats cheese. not sure if I could kill a goat to eat it though. goats smell. and they gather dust in their hairs...
(I have this obsessive compulsive thing about dust on my hands..)
