So, this has been rattling in my brain since I'm pregnant too - I was curious to know about the stages of Elayne's pregnancy and where the weeks corresponded with events in the books. I figured I could lay it out here, based on this chronology (http://www.stevenac.net/wot/tl1000.htm), in case anyone else was curious or needed info for their pet theory. This assumes that her pregnancy is normal and not accelerated due to the Power or something. Also, having had twins myself, I'll make a couple notes on my experiences vs. hers. (Let's just say I hate her guts for not having pregnancy sickness because she can channel. I was wretchedly ill and needed IVs for dehydration. :()

For those unfamiliar with pregnancy, it's usually measured in weeks. That's what I will do here. 20 weeks is the halfway point. Also, note that twin pregnancies seldom go the entire 9 months; twins are usually born somewhere from 7-8 months (28-36 weeks).

WH 12: Elayne and Rand conceive.
WH 30-31 (Mat meets Tuon): 4 weeks (http://www.babycenter.com/fetal-development-twins-images-4-weeks). If she lived in our day, she could get a positive pregnancy test.
CoT 30 (Egwene gets captured by the Tower): 8 weeks. (http://www.babycenter.com/fetal-development-twins-images-8-weeks) In our day she might have her first prenatal appointment. She should be crazy tired.
KoD 30-31 (Perrin rescues Faile, Elayne confronts Black Ajah): 10 weeks. She could hear the babies' heartbeat.
TGS 1 (Rand goes to Ebou Dar): 12 weeks. (http://www.babycenter.com/fetal-development-twins-images-12-weeks) Fatigue and other first trimester ailments begin to subside.
TGS 29 (Rand goes to Bandar Eban): 14 weeks. If Elayne wore pants, they wouldn't fit anymore.
TGS 36 (Tuon launches attack vs. Tar Valon): 16 weeks (http://www.babycenter.com/fetal-development-twins-images-16-weeks). She's definitely showing by this point.
TGS 38-41 (Verin dies, attack of the Seanchan): 17 weeks.
5 days after Rand's revelation at Dragonmount: 18 weeks.

Unfortunately, my husband lent out ToM after he finished it, so I don't have it here to further the chronology. Can anyone help me with time progressing in ToM?

Minor spoilers for ToM:

Elayne's midwife sensed two heartbeats coming from her belly for the first time and finally believed she will have twins. Also Elayne sensed the babies kicking, but the midwife can't sense this for now.

Not sure when exactly this happens in the timeline, though. At least a week after "Veins of Gold", probably two or three weeks.

I'll likely move it to the ToM board.

ETA: SPOILER ALERT!!! (sorry I skimmed your post, Tamyrlin, and thought you said you were moving it)

Rand told Egwene that he will be on the Field of Merrilor in 1 month (28 days) when he meets her in the White Tower, and showed up with no time to spare (since he met the Borderlanders the day before). So that is how much time that passed when Elayne arrived at Merrilor.

That timeline is pretty close, at least within a week or two, going up to Rand's epiphany, but it might be off just a bit since there are few clues for the chronology in TGS. So Elayne is probably at 20-24 weeks (or if you go by WOT 10 day weeks, she is at 14-17 weeks).

So need 1-2 months min. more to take it to term, if it's going to be born before the end of the LB.

The book ended probably about day 844. That's based on the tour info that Lan's trek took 100 days, and he was lined up with everyone else at the end.

And then somewhere in between meeting them all, he's got to also put Min elsewhere and shack up with Avi. Unless of course they have an everyone bonding orgy!

Going off your timeline, she's at 21 weeks and counting at the end of ToM.

Somewhere in this range Elayne meets Thom and Mat. Both men notice Elayne has a bit of a "does not really fit pants" issue, though only Thom understands what's going on.

Its harder to say what is "normal" for pregnancy in the wheel of time world. RJ made up new measurements and a calender for it so I'm not sure we can be completely sure. A week for us is seven days, a week in this world is ten. Just saying your four weeks is 28 vs 40 days. I think there is still 12 months in the year, but I can't remember from the guide I bought years ago. And then I don't think if it ever says there is also 365 days in the year just like us.

A week is ten days, a month is 28 days, and there are 13 months in the year, for a total of 364 days in a year. So really the only big difference is the weeks.
