"stop what you're doing and reconsider"

So when all is said and done, Mat saves the entire White Tower just by giving Joline some rolls.

I have come to realize that Deadsy just gets on a roll every now and then. I always want to rep her like five times after I just did, and then I don't think about repping her for like a whole day. She is what Felix might be like if he were sane.

That reminds me. I've been meaning to ask how do you rep people? I've tried doing it but I don't seem to be able to. The FAQ says to click the rep icon. Is that the icon that shows how much rep they have? I've tried clicking that and nothing happens. If I'm going about it wrong can someone point me in the right direction?

You click this button: http://www.theoryland.com/vbulletin/images/buttons/reputation.gif
but it took me forever to find the first time, so I wonder if there's a minimum post or rep requirement to use it.

You have to be an Elder or above to rep people.

Does that go by post count or time?

You have to be here at least six months to be raised to Elder, but not everyone who has been here six months will be raised to Elder. Like, if you've been here six months and you have less than 100 posts, then you are probably mostly a lurker. You have to participate to be raised.

Ancient is I think the biggest hump to jump. Very few people get there without hanging out on Non-WoT at least some; that's where most of the oldtimers hang out most of the time. Neilbert is one of those few; he got raised to Ancient without ever posting on the message board at all - he just responded to theories on the home page for years. After he got raised he came here. I want to say it was the same for Ozymandias (he doesn't post as much as Neil) and a couple others who still don't post on the message board.

I only have that icon on my own posts.
If you click it on the posts for which you were given rep (there is a link to them in your user CP) you can see the rep message there too. It's really nifty when you get a lot of reps for the same post.

I don't think there's any TLer who's not insane. But felix is definitely outsane. Deadsy has flair though.

Yeah, I can give Rep now. some of you guys deserve it for being Hi-lar-ious. Some for having awesome knowledge of the series and some for being just....crazy.

Correlation =/= Causation.

Becoming an Ancient or higher has nothing to do with the non-wot board...it just happens that most people that hang out here long enough end up on the non-wot out of sheer curiosity and boredom between books.

The point was that people don't typically get raised to Ancient unless the oldtimers feel like said people are one of us. And since the oldtimers don't hang out here, then they don't get to know the WoT-only people. Tam has final say, but he doesn't get to spend as much time here as he would like so he often depends on us for nominations.

Damned old-timers....

Some of us are here...though I'm probably still a newbie in their eyes too.

I was not going to find all of my old files on my old laptop but now you've forced my hand. /sigh

do you know how hard it is to use that computer? I have to pinch the center of the monitor in order for the colors to start working again.

BUT I WILL ANSWER THIS QUESTION. AND I'M NOT CRAZY.

Haha I don't have feelings about them one way or another, but I know the death metal elitists would get all pissy to hear a band that sounds like them claim to have been influenced by Morbid Angel or Cannibal Corpse, who by the way are among the most unoriginal and boring death metal bands anyway. We're talking about dudes who may or may not have branded inverted crosses into their foreheads.
