and stuck in Hayward, CA.
My two nieces, ages 7 and 13, are visting my folks in Hayward. My parents work all day and the kids are bored out of their skulls. I've done a web search and don't see anything that they both can do during the day. Does anyone know of any activities in the area that they could both enjoy?

If the 13-year-old will keep an eye on the 7-year-old, your folks could buy them season passes for Great America and drop them off there in the AM and pick them up in the PM. Might get expensive, though.
Not sure if Carts 'n' Golf is still in Fremont, but if it is it's closer than Great America. But how long can you play mini-golf and watch go-carts?
There's an Environmental Education Center in Newark at the National Wildlife Refuge. It's pretty cool, if you're into that kind of stuff.
and there's ~got~ to be a movie theater or a public pool somewhere in Hayward.
Isn't there any outdoors waterparks or somesuch? Bathing, going in the waterslide etc. I could spend several hours as a kid at the outdoor pools.
Cinemas? Museums (ok not so fun when 13 maybe but maybe there are some fun places like that?). Carnevals with rollercoasters etc?
Heck, give them a crayon, skiprope and have them play on the asphalt.
