Yup, it's summer in the south again. (http://www.accuweather.com/forecast-details.asp?partner=accuweather&traveler=0&zipcode=38138&metric=0&fday=1) What they don't emphasize on here is that the humidity is going to be high on top of everything else. I have a contractor building a hospital and it has a two floor basement for a parking garage. The poor guys working down in the hole, with hardhats on and no air moving around hate it. I only go down when I have to and then I only stay exactly as long as I absolutely have too.
Last night I was outside walking the dogs and having a smoke about 9 pm. It was still in the 90's and when I would exhale the smoke it would just hang around me until I moved...there was zero air movement.
Sometimes working outside really really sucks ass.

I'd say we're about equal, there Sei. Take a look at our humidity. I couldn't see if the humidity was mentioned in y'all's forecast, even though you said they don't emphasize it.

However, I can safely say we, at least, have wind.

Wish I could, but it's coming off the Gulf. So, not sure it'd be any help whatsoever.

Our humidity is going to be pushing 80%...tonight around 11 when the temperature is below 60 degrees F.
This afternoon, Portland is expected to reach a high of 79, with a humidity of 40%. Great stuff.

Been over 100 every day for the last 3 weeks. No rain, modest humidity.
We are supposed to dip into the low 90's on Wednesday and Thursday when whatever that hurricane is in the gulf drops its outside remnants on us.
We moved in here on June 20th. Since then it has rained precisely once. For 30 minutes (violent 30 minutes, but still). Place is ripe for a Terr'rist to come and light a few matches.

You are in the Hil Country, Ivhon. Started water rationing yet?
There are benefits to being in the swamp.

Except for the cactus, of course

Hehe, yeah, I wouldn't bother with a vegetable garden in Austin.

No, no veggie garden. Tomato plants look so pretty at the begining of summer...now they are all dead. My yard is pretty brown, too. I even water! Thursdays & Saturdays are my days. I manage to water at least once a week. I don't know why I bother. It seems like a damn waste to me. Oh and Ivhon, my cactus is doing fine, too. It's huge, want part of it? (pleeeeaaassseeee!?) :p

it's been downright pleasant around here: highs in the low 80's, fog in the morning, breeze in the afternoon, low humidity. Other than the smoke from all the fires it's been downright gorgeous.
Before you get jealous, median home prices are above $600k and gas is over $4.50 a gallon. So we ~pay~ for our weather.

yup, I'm gonna die. (http://www.accuweather.com/us/tn/germantown/38138/city-weather-forecast.asp?partner=accuweather&u=1&traveler=1) I drank all the water in my 2 and 1/2 gallon jug today. I just came in the office about 30 minutes ago and I'm still drying out. Do you know what khaki pants look like after you sweat out 2 1/2 gallons of water? It's not pretty.

Yeah, and at least that sucking up some of the humidity...this morning it was up around 85% now its down to 50%. I'm glad I cut my hair last night so I can get a sunburn on my scalp...because I can't find my damn hat.
