Here's my question...
How much do I have to remember about the last season before I go see this movie?

It's supposed to be standalone and unrelated to the aliens plotline.
At least, it's SUPPOSED to be.

I've never watched any X-Files. The movie trailers look good, but I hope I'm not completely lost if I see it.

I barely watched any of the old x-files series, perhaps a dozen or so episodes and yet I was able to understand the movie...I have a feeling that this one will be the same way.
Is there anyone who can actually say they understood the plot the last couple of seasons? I didn't see all the eps of the series but I saw a lot I think. I was pretty confused at the end, what side where these guys on, and those other guys, what where they doing?, etc etc and so forth.

Hey don't feel too bad Anaiya. I own seasons 1-4 on dvd and the only reason I stopped buying them is because I went to law school and couldn't afford them.

I followed it. I remember that much.
Now, if you ask me to remember WHAT I followed... I couldn't tell you. Hell, that was 12 years ago, at least!

I learned today that the makers of x-files actually wanted Pamela Anderson to play Scully...
now I'm just as facinated by big boobs as the next guy, but I think that would have destroyed the show :p

I've only ever seen a few episodes of the X-files, but I'm actually quite looking forward to the film :)

I liked the earlier seasons, the almost stand-alone episodes were there was a new wierd thingy to investigate every time, but when they started into all the alien conspiracy rubbish about Mulder's sister or something (I never really understood it from the episodes that I saw) it started getting really annoying.

The only full episode of X-files I ever saw involved a chicken farm. It was so creepy and disgusting that I vowed never to watch another. Blech.

Anyone remember one about an inbred family? I think they kept their mother on a plank under the bed, because she had no arms and legs. So gross.

dunno why, but I still find the scene where the sons go and beat that other family to death scary
and the one about the mutant that jumps through people's stomachs
