I have been thinking. Alivia is really dedicated to Rand and i can't see her actually killing him. But what if she kills Moridin, and by proxy, kills Rand since they are linked? This is how I can see it playing out.

Rand and Mori fight, both of them are really weak and tired, but Mori has Rand down and is ready to finish him. Then Alivia, not knowing about their link, comes up from behind and kills a weakened Mori to save Rand, but with Rand in his weakened state can't survive the death throught the link.

See, in that way, she would be helping him die without actually killing him. Any thoughts?

This is one of the more straightforward interpretations of her role, and as such it's a pretty common opinion. I'm personally expecting something more mundane.

Depends on when you believe Moridin and the creature formerly known as Padan Fain Mordeth will attack Rand really:

When Mierin is controlling the linked circle?

Mierin is the one who knows more about the Bore than everyone alive. After all she helped to drilled it in the first place!

When Rand is controlling the linked circle?

Rand is the one who knows how to see every Darkfriends cable to the Dark One (in the void). Rand is the one who knows how to call down lightning and fire everywhere in the world at once. Rand is the one who can pull down the mountains.

Moridin can find Rand when:

Rand is channeling saidin, or holding the 'void'

The Creature Formerly Known as Padan Fain Mordeth can find Rand when:

Rand is NOT holding the void or channeling Saidin.

Question is which will occur first?

Re-sealing the Bore?
Frying every remaining alive Darkfriend, Chosen in the 'true world' (except Moghedien)?

My vote is for the Bore being re-seal first.

So the Creature formerly known as Padan Fain Mordeth will attack Rand, Mierin, Alivia first.

Moridin will attack Rand, Mierin, Alivia AFTER Padan Fain Mordeth does.

Mierin will be stabbed by one of the attackers, according to 4th Age writings.

Reason why, is Rand and the rest of his linked circle will be physically killed when they frying everyone but Moghedien with lightning, fire, earthquakes toppling every stone in the 'true world'. A suicide to save what remains. (what's left of the flooded ruins in Tar Valon, Caemlyn, Ebou Dar et al)

Moghedien is an absolutely important exception. Moghedien is a survivor, who has a key to the true world's re-creation. A key which Nynaeve should find in AMoL book. Nynaeve with Moghedien's knowledge shall Dream of a future where people are healed from 'death'.

Lan shall appear from the dead, in Nynaeve's thoughts and memories, to be willed to live again.

Hmm. I did a serach on two forums and saw no mention of her killing Mori. But I guess sometimes the simplest answer is the solution. lol. I really can't see any other way for her to help him to die without actively killing him, which I can't see her doing.

Edit: Hi Felix. Okay, I'll just say no.

I can see a lot of ways for her to help him die short of actually killing him.

RJ has manipulated and played with the mean of the word "servant" in loose connection with the words "link", "circle", "serve".

Being part of a linked circle is 'serving'. Thus, Alivia and Mierin's saidar each shall be part of the thing which kills Rand al'Thor. However Rand will be holding control of the linked circle when he dies.
