Hopefully I post this in the right place on this forum.

I am a fan of both Jordan and Sanderson. I have tried my hand at storytelling myself and are aware of how good they are at what they do. I started listen to writing excuses from the advice of a friend online.

Writing excuses is a weekly audio podcast discussing and braking down the writing process as well as general storytelling. It's 15 minutes long since they are in a hurry and not that smart. Other than Brandon there are now three other regulars. Dan Wells is a horror writer, with a whole lot of dark humor in his books. Howard Tayler the creator of the webcomic Schlock mercenary. Recently Mary Robinette Kowal joined the three musketeers, she is a fantasy writer and puppeteer. They have a discussion about different subjects concerning storytelling and what it takes to be a succesful author.

It is interesting to listen to even for someone who never will write anything, but who appreciate how to tell a compelling story. There is 150 episodes or so that you can listen to. You can pick the subjects that is most interesting for you. There is episodes about the difference and merits of what kind of viewpoint you use in a story. There's episodes on brainstorming, character description and many other subjects.

Give an episode that seems interesting a try. It's only 15 minutes and they are not that smart (i.e. they talk so that everyone gets it, more or less).

By the way. I have not been paid for recommending this, but would not refuse a little something something ;)
