why ? I wish he never left the Mets. They did a nice turnaround under his direction in the late 90's. And he also turned around that bad Japanese team that he managed. Besides, he has an "interesting" personality and will definitely fit in with the NYY rivalry :D

Valentine is the type of personality that works well in the short-term but that a team starts to tune out after a couple years. Buck Showalter is exactly the same way. His players usually play hard for a bit but absolutely despise him after a while and then start mailing it in.

Given the RedSox major clubhouse issues, Bobby V might be exactly what they need to get their heads out of their arses.

You mean with a name like Valentine, he's not a huggy bear type of dude?

I'll believe when the Sox win the World Series again.

Could be worse Zae. At least your team didn't trade away all it's talent over the last two years, get sold, switch leagues, fire all of their management, and not fire a completely inept and ineffective manager.

I, for one, will miss the Phillies AAA club. I hope they enjoy the AL West.

I also hope the Rangers enjoy their 105 win season next year as they play the Astros, Mariners, and Athletics a combined 60 times.

If you'd like, I can mail you a Phillies hat so you can cheer on your favorite Astros...

Well we did fire the management....we'll see what happens with the talent...already got one down

I'll be impressed if you can get your starting rotation to stay sober during games.

Does it matter with our options for closers?

Especially since I couldn't rep him yet again.

Just sign Madson...he's as good as Papelbon was anyway...and cheaper most likely.

At least they werent dumb enough to give Papelbon the deal the Phillies gave him. 4 years, $50 million with a vesting option for year 5 worth another $10 million apparently.

Actually I just watched my favorite Astro win a World Series with the Cards. *headdesk* I miss the Big Puma.
