The best grilled cheese sandwich is the gooiest grilled cheese..."After you bite into it, the cheese should stretch out past your face as far as your arm will reach. Otherwise, it's just not right."

Ohhhhhhhyesssss!

In an ingenious twist, Roxy's brushes mayonnaise on the outside of sandwiches, rather than butter, before slapping them on the griddle.

Oh please. We've been doing that in BFE for decades.

However, this gives me an idea for my hubby's once-a-year birthday treat tomorrow. I'm sure he'd like it if I slathered mayo on both sides before I slapped him on his griddle... :D

I am sure your hubby will greatly appreciate a grilled cheese sandwich for his birthday.

I think on aesthetics alone, this should win Best Grilled Cheese in the US hands down.

Of course it's the Europeans that put the most ingredients into their grilled cheese. :p

I would like to take this moment to tell everyone that their own grilled cheese is just fine, and they should not look to outside ingredients or "instruments" to spice things up. And while I am sure that everyones' grilled cheese could use a little improvement, it is the basics that made yours great in the first place.

As long as it's hard on the outside and soft on the inside...

It's a mixed bag whether the subs and doms on bondage.com agree with you:

bondage.com grilled cheese sandwich thread (http://www.bondage.com/forums/pop_printer_friendly.asp?TOPIC_ID=126076)

a mix of sharp cheddar and real swiss. on rye bread. WITH the seeds. slowly grilled on a real iron griddle.

there will be none of that crappy smooshy white-bread/velveeta nonsense in the bad_heather household, you hear me????

OH yum, we had grilled cheese just a couple of days ago. Two slices of thick white american cheese, soft white bread and a bowl of hot tomato soup. *drools*
