I got a couple of text messages from Bryan overnight.

The power went out shortly after midnight. Despite the strong winds, everyone at his place was sleeping. Except him. He was under the bed crying like a baby.

The eye came across at roughly 5AM and Bry is happy to report that there seemed to be no major damage to the house, although it was still dark. Best he can tell, windows are intact. Roof is on.

Just got off the phone. Happy to report that sunlight demonstrates all well in Houston. Everyone is safe and with the exception of some soggy cheesy poofs, no substantial property damage.

Yes, Bratticus called me too. Her cell phone isn't working but otherwise all is well. There were some rumors yesterday of a hurricane party that may or may not have involved drinking.

I can't imagine that anyone would mock mother nature in such a shameful and arrogant way.

i think a hurricane party with Bryan & Sinistrum locked in the same room is just curel & unusual. For anyone else trapped in that hot box with them.

Glad to hear there were no casualties, barring the innocent cheezy poofs. ;)

I had text message contact with Gil shortly after noon. Still no electric but all was well. Glad to hear it. As for the Her-i-cane party. A little white lightening to settle the nerves never hurts.:)

I'm fine too. Weathered the storm in my apartment complex with some friends. Had some roof leaks sprout in my bedroom. It will probably take some work to get the place fit for human habitation again but there wasn't any personal property damage luckily. I'm in San Antonio right now since the power is out in my neighborhood which means absolutely no A/C.

I think we should put together a collection to help defray the cost of damages. How much will you guys need to replace the cheezy poofs.

You can't just replace them; those Cheesy Poofs are Heroes, martyrs to the Great Cause!!

Update: Still don't have any power at either my apartment or my work so I'm still in San Antonio. No ETA about when the electricity will be back on.

My platform does not involve subsidizing cheesy poofs. Beer, yes. Queso, yes. Cheezy Poofs, no.

We'll take beer over cheesy poofs any day of the week. :D

It got through Frenzy, but the nearest cell tower relay is on the same power circuit as our neighborhood. (There are times when it's great to be that close to your cell relay, but this ain't one of them.) I couldn't text you back, and by then I was running out of juice. I'm charging my cell phone at work today.
