I've noticed a few nits to pick on my current re-read, and this one is minor and I may not be remembering correctly, but still...

Fires of Heaven CH: 32 - A Short Spear
“The two women on leashes can channel,” he whispered. “Can you block them?” Hurriedly he added, “Don’t embrace the Source yet. They’re prisoners, but they still might warn the others, and even if they don’t, the women with the bracelets might be able to feel them sense you.”

AFAIK, this is the first time Rand ever encountered a sul'dam or damane (he did see them from a distance in Falme when he spotted Egwene on a leash). While they would be recognizable due to the leash, some information about them would not be obvious (the 2 phrases bolded above in particular), and would have needed to be obtained from somewhere. But where?

Verin was with Rand while they were scouting Falme, but I doubt she ever learned that much about the sul'dam/damane since she stayed as far from them as possible. Moiraine may have learned it but I doubt she shared this specific information about the Seanchan. Nynaeve, Elayne and Egwene learned this information definitely but I doubt they shared it with Rand. And if he knew that information, he would have also learned that sul'dam were potential channelers also, but he didn't mention that (Aviendha did however).

I am sure he dug every scrap of info he could find on the Seanchan, read reports etc.

Verin had warned him about the dangers of channeling in Falme. She specifically warned that they might detect him, so the idea that they could detect Aviendha is not far fetched.
Then there's the fact that he spent a bit of time in that region afterwards, giving him additional opportunity for picking up information.
And finally I suspect that he learned more from Egwene than you assume is likely. Though that is not certain; it may be that Egwene would have kept this secret for some reason.

He didn't spend time in the region afterwards, though, since they were already on the road by the time he regained consciousness, and besides, the Seanchan were gone by then anyway. And the bolded information would likely only have been known by female channelers with firsthand experience with sul'dam/damane, like Nynaeve and Egwene. Rand apparently didn't even know that sul'dam can channel, since he specified that the damane can channel, which he should have learned from the same source as his knowledge about the damane. Not to mention, this whole scene is incongruous with the ignorance that saidin channelers generally display about saidar channelers and vice versa (forsaken excepted), let alone a saidin channeler instructing a saidar channeler about other saidar channelers.

While doing searches on this topic I found this:

Fires of Heaven CH: 32 - A Short Spear
She looked at him oddly, but wasted no time on foolish questions such as how he knew; they would come later, he knew. “The women with the bracelets can channel also,” she replied just as softly. “It feels very strange, though. Weak. As if they had never practiced it. I cannot see how that can be.”

Path of Daggers CH: 23 - Fog of War, Storm of Battle
"This is a Seanchan Aes Sedai?" Anaiyella asked suddenly, leaning over the pommel of her saddle to peer hard at Nerith. Nerith spat at her, as well, eyes widening in outrage. Rand explained the little he knew of sul'dam, that they controlled women who could channel with the aide of a leash-and-collar ter'angreal but could not themselves channel, and to his surprise, the dainty simpering High Lady said coldly, "If my Lord Dragon feels constrained, I'll hang her for him." Nerith spat at her again! Contemptuously, this time. No shortfall of courage there.

Aviendha told Rand they can channel, I guess he just doesn't pay attention.

And yes, it is much later, and here come the "foolish questions" about how he knew this lol
