Happy Birthday! How long does one have to serve to get Tricare for life? (I deal with my grandmother's Medicare, but her brother is on Tricare and doesn't have to deal with it.)

"Tricare for life" is value added coverage(s) and have to be paid for.

Tricare coverage for civilian care (non-military ER visits, etc) is replace by Medicare coverage at age 65 unless you've enrolled and paid the premiums for TFL.
