The Armenians are absolutely correct that Obama is a national disgrace for denying the genocide. He's a national disgrace to our nation and an insult to the free world, sympathizing with barbarians in the Middle East who are carrying out a mass genocide against Christians. How many more must die before he admits that the group he sympathizes with has been, and is still mass murdering millions of people based on their faith? He's always so quick to attack a white individual in this country who kills a black, regardless if it was due to race, usually with little to no evidence, but when there is strong evidence and facts supporting the systematic elimination of Christians in the Middle East, he denied. A sick and twisted disgrace. I know many of you won't agree because you're Obama's sheep and more likely than not, atheists, but perhaps someday the truth will sink in at the damage this guy has inflicted on our nation.

OMG, you'll never believe how nasty my poop smelled today after eating a bunch of Thai food last night and for lunch earlier.

Like wicked bad...way worse than even Chipotle.

Love me some Tom Yum soup though.

Speaking as a Catholic non-American...

-Obama isn't a disgrace to the American people. Even if he isn't "officially recognizing" the Armenian Genocide. One act does not a disgraced person make.

-Yes, the killing of Christians in the Middle-East because of their religion is a terrible atrocity. So is the killing of anybody due to their beliefs/sexuality/political stance, etc.

-Again, Catholic, not atheist. Not even of a Protestant denomination. Doesn't change anything.

-People blindly following partisan movements in order to oppose "the Man" will inflict more damage to your nation than Obama has. I'm not saying there aren't problems, or that Obama doesn't have problems himself. However, focusing on Obama; choosing him to be the scapegoat, is not going to solve your problems.

That's an amazing coincidence because the other day I let out the biggest fart of my life. I was in my own home and in the bathroom to boot so no casualties, but man that felt like it ripped all the way from my stomach. And it was LOUD, the neighbouring buildings must have heard it. Didn't smell all that bad though.

Usually the loud ones don't smell.

For all you know, you could have caused that earthquake in San Andreas (the movie with the Rock that has yet to come out) ;)

I guess I'm just curious about your motivations at this point. I've never seen anyone here give Obama very much praise, in fact most are very critical of him, so disregarding that logical fallacy, if you truly, deep down in your heart-three-sizes-too-small heart, that the people here are "Obama's sheep" (as if to imply that they (we) are here at Obama's behest to spread his Word and Glory) why do you bother? Honestly, if you follow up your "truth" with "well, you won't even believe it" then, why?

How is this any different than every other president (while in office, some former presidents, most notably Teddy Roosevelt) with since 1915, all of whom have refused to label it genocide? Not surprisingly, politics has always been at play, not just for Obama. Take a guess which party was in power back in 1989 when this happened...

http://www.nytimes.com/1989/12/03/nyregion/account-of-armenian-massacre-provokes-diplomatic-storm.html

This is nothing new Southpaw. If you are critical of Obama on this issue, have a least a modicum of impartiality and recognize that the same is true of nearly every major American politician, and every single sitting president since the genocide took place.

I know many of you won't agree because you're Obama's sheep and more likely than not, atheists, but perhaps someday the truth will sink in at the damage this guy has inflicted on our nation.

Do you actually read any of our comments on Obama? Most of us have been very critical of Obama, especially on health care where we think he didn't go far enough, and on wall street, where he has been far too lenient. It's just that our complaints aren't irrational.

A fundamental connection between support for Obama and atheism? With such an intriguing and stimulating intellectual insight, I wish to proffer a beckoning hand - next time your road wends its way hither and yon throughout the too-often beknighted lands of Michigan, do seek my humble abod. I would like to cordially invite you to stop by my unassuming hearth and rest your weary legs on green grass, a fine position to adopt for the express purpose of kissing my ass.

Obama and Hilary belong to you Bible thumpers. Sod off, religitard.

When Obama criticises Israel, Southpaw disapproves of that. Now Obama is implicitly supporting Israel (which also fails to acknowledge the Armenian genocide) and Southpaw disapproves of that too. There's no pleasing some people, it is as simple as that.

Of course there is. Southpaw is pleased to oppose Obama. It's not a matter of him opposing Obama for doing what ever he happens to do. He opposes those things because it's Obama doing them. His moral compass is firmly set on "oppose Obama". If Obama disappeared, southpaw wouldn't be able to define right and wrong.

Loud mouth woman is a given. Feminist too and pervert of course. Oh and sophisticated swine you gave yourself. I'm actually not sure how you stand on religion, but there should be something you fit on that list. Of course a lot of people fit "agnostic" without identifying as such and that would be the problem with the remaining. Which do you own up to? I'm going to guess agnostic as the religious pick and the last two would be liberal and sports nut, you not owning up to fornicator, drunkard and liar. I have my suspicions on environmentalism and gambling but they are not that strong.

It is late, but I thought I would drop in a reply and I am going off memory here with no research.

Candidate Obama made a campaign promise (pledge, mention?) to label the genocide as what it was when he was a candidate. He gets elected and I am fairly certain someone in the state dept or DoD informed him Turkey is the only way we are (or were) able to supply our ongoing war in Afghanistan and therefore we cannot afford to piss them off.

For whatever reason the Turks (or their leadership) seem to feel the sins of the Ottoman Empire should be seen as something to stand behind and be offended if anyone calls that empire the spade it was. Perhaps someone more versed in Turkey's political history can offer a reason as to that. For the US, we have in recent history had a strong tendency to apologize for past wrongs, such as the internment of AJAs, which is a good thing. But not every government is as dedicated to correcting its past. It is the reason that you cannot bring up Tibet with the Chinese, it would be stupid for the US to antagonize the Chinese. I think many US President's have had the policy of letting their underlings do the talking that they themselves cannot, which is fine.

I won't castigate Obama for coming to the reality that you cannot antagonize an "ally" in the region, especially one that we must deal with to supply Afghanistan. If anything, it reflects a growth in him where he was some blind idealist.

To be honest, I think this issue annoys both extremes of the parties, but for different reasons.

Bahi is their misspelling of Baha'i - it's somewhat similar to the Unitarian Church, except with a more mystical and Persian feel than the Unitarians really have. As for PK, I had to look up that myself. It apparently is an abbreviation for Pastor's Kids.

If you're still confused by "high falutin" (I'm guessing there are a variety of alternate spellings), it means pretentious or pompous. It is as far as I'm aware pretty archaic - think old south or west, or cheesy cowboy movies.

Especially, and more so then than now, the one legitimately secular government in the region.

Maybe because it is the 90th anniversary, but as someone living in NY, demonstrators have been FAR more visible this year than in years past about the Armenian Genocide (which was unquestionably a genocide). I am not sure why, and I must shamefacedly confess being annoyed at how they delayed my making a flight this past weekend, but if anyone has an answer to why this was such an important date that would be cool.

EDIT: I am a complete idiot and just realized its 2015 and not 2005. Leaving the above as evidence of my badness with calenders and the maths and stuff. Question revoked.
