View Full Version : Heard of the WOTMUD game?

Hello WoTers,

I couldn't decide if this would be allowed in the normal discussion subforum, so I'm putting it here. Mods please place it wherever you prefer, if you want this subforum being purely non-WoT! I won't get mad.

I'd like to see who all has heard of WoTmud. It's an free text based online game centered around our dear book series and operates with the permission of the late Robert Jordan. It was the game that actually got me hooked on the books during the slower points in the early series.

We've been around since 1993, and would welcome anyone who wants to be in Randland. You can choose from Light (human), Dark (trollocs, fades and dreadlords) and Seanchan (raiders big on RP).

You can RP, PVP or focus on PVE content. While the PVP is unrestricted, it will have in game RP consequences if you decide you want to play some bandit, brigand, etc and just cause havoc. And that's cool, cause everyone is free to play their character their way!

Combat is more player skill focused, instead of the gear making the character untouchable.

If this sounds at all interesting, please see
http://www.wotmod.org/viewtopic.php?f=76&t=1831 for connection info, and http://www.wotmod.org/viewtopic.php?f=76&t=1832 for advice on your first character.

Please note that channelers are available to LS at creation, but for the sake of game balance are harder to stat. The other classes all have an available prerolled stat option that I'd recommend for those just starting.

Old players that may have been around before, at 200, 300, 400 etc character age you get stat rerolls based on your current stats to make your older character more competitive.

The game takes place in a slightly alternate timeline around book 2 - 3, so expect to see that kind of Randland.

I hope some of you will give it a go, but please excuse me while I go read some of these awesome theories posted around this board.

I think there are a few people who used to play this (Dahl? Isa?) back in the day. We don't have a lot of new members these days so I suspect most of our active posters/lurkers have heard of it at least.

I think by the rules posts like this usually just get deleted no matter where they are posted. But whatever; it's not like we're overloaded with promotional posts for other WoT sites these days. :)
