According to this interview (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CaQWNgPJAPc)(15.50-16.00) it seems that Rothfuss will do more than 3 books in his Kingkiller Chronicles.

I always assumed it would be a trilogy.

If he wants to finish his plot and won't speed up dramatically he'll need 30 books I would say.
Any way if he keeps releasing books once in a while and there will be more than 3 I'll be extremely surprised if they'll be finished ever.

Yeah, they are well written and everything, but I really don't understand the hype. Nothing happens in the books, at least not in a pace I am used to.

Having met the guy, I suspect the fact that the author is an awesome person might have something to do with it. :)

Yeah he isn't what you'd call the regular author type either. Some I've talked to have no idea who writes the books, but think they are great anyways. I like them, and will probably read the next one as well, but the pace is soooo slow.

What has really happened in two books? I can't think of anything right now except trying to get his hands on some cash and scoring with a chick.
