Default John and Eric Answer Your Items and Loot Questions

Ha! I knew a Q&A was coming soon.

http://www.arena.net/blog/john-and-e...loot-questions

“Philosophically we believe that players should have a way to acquire items like transmutation stones through the course of playing the game and not just through purchase in the in-game store.”

That is what was concerning me. I am glad that at least they are considering it.

this armour here looks VERY ritualist. Probably ranger armour though given the wings.

I am not sure but I think the gw2guru and gwguru servers just exploded because of this new info.
I haven't been able to access their site for the past 15 minutes.

Has a dervish quality as well. Some of the armor I have seen lately seem to fit well with several classes.

That's probably mostly the hoods and the (half-)full length skirts. Also looks like there are potions hanging off the hips.

I wonder if the class armours are going to be as distinguishable or if it's just going to be heavy/medium/light and all the classes can have any armour. That'd be kinda neat...

Well it has been stated that there will be full sets of each light/medium/heavy from dungeons. However they have not said that the appearances of those armor sets will be shared.
I have to say though I really really do not want to see some elementalist running around casting fireballs in full platemail looking armor.

yeah, that'd be bad, but that would also be heavy armour and the elementalists would be restricted to light armour. I'm more thinking that you could see any spell-caster character is the same type of armour, although coloured differently to customize.

Ahh yes I see what you mean. That is what I believe is going to happen.
Any scholar will able to use any light armor. Any adventure will be able to use medium. Any soldier will be able to use heavy. As long as they do not share appearances. Leave that for clothing.
That makes the most sense to me. Also that will allow lots and lots of customization.
I hope they add some clothing as well for costume slots(if there will be any).
More customization the happier I will be.

Yes I got an error saying something about the Curse servers were having an issue. Does seem to have been fixed whatever it was.

APB before it died it's rather quick death, was awesome for customization. You could get just basic clothing items and then customize the hell out of everything. It was great. It was actually the best part of the game...which is one of the reasons why it died.
