Default Signing and Q & A tonight 21/11/11

Right, I am off to the q&a session tonight in Milton Keynes with Brandon and I don't want to ask something that covers old ground so I was wondering: what question should I ask Brandon?

I'm a lurker on here rather than a poster so please be nice All suggestions apart from ones about Asmodean's death are taken seriously (jk). I want to ask a good question, hopefully one that will not get RAFO as a response (fingers crossed, hey?)

Why doesn't the Dark One use meteor strikes?
Messing around with the weather may be a bit easier, but it is also far easier to counteract, and simpler to spot too.

If he hits Rand, he is back to square one.

Ask him if Rand's question about how to 'win and survive' the Last Battle counted as two questions.

Will maybe get answered:
- Does Calandor exist in T'A'R?
- Will the people from the land of the madmen play a role in aMoL?
- Did Moiraine go through he stone arch while it was still in Ruidean?

Will probably be RAFO'd:
- Where is Demandred hiding?
- Was the person we know a Taim who is currently leading the Black Tower the same as the one who declared himself as a false Dragon?
- Was Aviendas second trip though the glass columns in Ruidean affected by the dream Ter'Angreal she was carrying?
- Where did Moiraine learn Balefire?
- Is Moiraine still bound by the original 3 oaths.

Yes, it has a reflection like everything else; we have seen it. Whether or not it's a stable reflection depends on how often it is moved around.

Probably not.

If she had, she wouldn't have been able to go through it again.

Since she wasn't severed, just had her strength decreased, she is still bound.

There are 2 binders we know of (the oath rod and the one Therava has). There are likely more that survived the breaking and for all we know there might be other ways to remove the oaths

It's my pet theory that the bore has to be sealed in T'A'R. The answer to this question may shed more light on my theory.

Unless part of the price she had to pay was to come back with another channeler.

Right guys, I have written all of these down and I will ask as many as I get the chance to!

I will make extensive notes of all questions asked and I'll post a summary in the next couple of days.

Thanks for your help.

Quick quick summary, I'll post a longer write up later.

Terez: the win and survive counted as ONE question, very direct answer there

Mazrim Taim - is he the same man as the guy who proclaimed himself as a flase dragon (tired you know what I mean): RAFO

Another lurking Theorylander was there, very good question, very interesting answers. Will post more tomorrow x

Thanks for asking the question. I was 99% he'd RAFO that one
I'm guessing the real Taim was replaced before he showed up for Rand's amnesty. Ishy/Morridin is my favorite candidate because Taim seems to copying Rand's Motions like holding his hand behind his back and because of the colors used in the BT. Belal is my backup choice (This assumes Moiraine's Balefire was weak enough the DO could still grab his soul.)

Yeah I was fairly certain he'd RAFO that one too as it's something I'm itching to know myself. To be fair, in my head that question isn't whether Taim is still the original Taim but who Taim now is I asked that one specifically because it was on my personal list to ask as well; it is nice to know that my own personal questions aren't too noobish lol.

But you got me a RAFO card in the post! And for that I am grateful - no true fan can get through the saga without having had a RAFO

Right, the question asked by another British Theorylander who was a thoroughly lovely guy to chat to but I'll let him identify himself was: "How did Egwene easily break free from the a'dam placed upon her in T'a'R by Mesaana when the a'dam placed upon Moghedien (a mistress of T'a'R) was so effective?' This got Brandon thinking hard but he RAFO'd it in the end but he did say 'are you a theorylander?' which did make us laugh

Doesn't Egwene explain why it didn't work in the book?

ooh, that's a good one! Maybe it has to do with how she was in T'A'R combined with the fact that it's not mentioned anywhere that she was a particularly strong presence in T'A'R in the Age of Legends, presumably her ability to keep a firm mind on "reality" in T'A'R would not be instinctive, so perhaps that's why Egwene broke through. Mesaana wasn't a Dreamer but Egwene was, to put it simply. Now, the more interesting question is, why didn't Moghedien break through? She should have, in those particular circumstances. Maybe she knew too well what was applied to her and she froze in panic and fear?

Moghedien probably didn't think of it.
After all, if she'd had the ability to think things through, she wouldn't have become a Forsaken in the first place.

The book states that she 'accepted' the power of the a'dam. I think that means that while she was the queen of TAR, she is in essence a coward.
