Default The AMOL Playlist

I like listening to music when I'm reading. I intend to listen to some music when reading A Memory Of Light. But this book is a big deal, so it'd be nice to have a special playlist for it. I thought it'd be cool to get the input of TLers over what to listen to. I already have some picks:

No Light, No Light - Florence And The Machine
The Thing That Should Not Be - Metallica
The Skies Above - The Black Mages (this is actually the Black Mages' version of the song Brandon wrote the end of AMOL to)
Eternity: Memory of Lightwaves - FFX-2 Soundtrack

I'm sure I will think of some more. If people have some inputs, maybe we can make a Spotify playlist or something like that? It'd be cool to think we were hundreds and thousands of miles apart, but all reading the same book, listening to the same music...

I've really grown away from listening to vocal music when I read - I can concentrate on either the music or the book, not both. But when I was younger (oh, so long ago) I played Moist's Creature on repeat when I read WoT. It was the perfect mix of angst and rock with interludes of sad slow songs. LOL

Now I just listen to instrumental stuff. Classical, or Spanish guitar...

I like listening to Pagan's Mind while reading or even thinkin about WoT. They're always singing about the Light and persevering through tough times. I like the songs "Revelation to the End" and "Eyes of Fire" and Of course, there's also the two songs by Blind Guardian that are about Wheel of Time. One is called Wheel of Time and the other is Ride Into Obsession I think

There are a couple of Manowar songs that fits perfectly into WOT universe and atmosphere, in my opinion : The Hymn of the Immortal Warriors, Swords in the wind and Brothers of Metal, part 1. Otherwise, Shore's work on LOTR is awesome too, and I particularly enjoy listening to music while I am reading

What song did you post? I think the fact that you picked it a second time and independently is pretty interesting.

I rarely listen to music when I read, and I'd probably kill myself if I listened to power metal

But if I do listen, I usually want something minimalistic, something that can just play in the background while I focus on the text. Preferably something electronic/house kind of stuff.

I wrote Blind Guardians "Wheel of Time", not that I really listen to it when I read WoT, but because it's a funny song
